Billie Platis, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away in Everett, WA at age 77. Born in Seattle, WA, before moving to Everett with her family as a small child, Billie's love for Everett was unwavering, and she enjoyed bumping into old friends and acquaintances while out and about. She had a deep connection to the city, as her parents were the proprietors of the Orient Tavern, where she lived with her two siblings and as many as five step-siblings in the small apartment below the establishment.
Billie was a kind and caring individual who had an exceptional ability to make people feel immediately at ease in her presence. Her genuine concern for others extended to friends and strangers, and she was known for her warm and welcoming nature.
Billie's pride and joy were her two children, Tawnya and Nickolas. She considered raising them to be her greatest accomplishment. In addition to being a loving mother, Billie played a significant role in the lives of several of the close friends of both Tawnya and Nickolas.
She was devoutly Greek Orthodox and a long-time member of the Daughters of Penelope, a Hellenic women's organization.
Billie is survived by her brother Harry Platis (Alethea), daughter Tawnya Bjorkquist (Brad), her son Nickolas Streeter (Julie), and her grandchildren Stephen, Isaac, Lyon, Lyla, Billie, and Lorne. She also leaves behind her nephew Damon Platis (Tish) and nieces Alexandra Flugstad (Matt) and Stephanie Platis. Billie was preceded in death by her father, Bill Platis, her mother, Eula Colliers, her step-father, Jim Colliers, and her brother, George Platis.
The family would like to thank many of Billie's long-time friends for their dedication to her well-being, specifically Kay Olsen and Dianne Noyce, and the Terrace at Beverly Lake staff for their dignified care of Billie over the last 15 months.
Billie's life will be celebrated on Friday, September 22nd, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the banquet room of the Buzz Inn on Broadway in Everett: 3121 Broadway, Everett, WA 98201.

We give our deepest sympathies to the Platis family.
To lose such a kind, gracious and outgoing person is just wrong.
Way back when, a young beautiful woman came to earn extra money at the State liquor store I managed in Seattle. In talking with her, she related that she was from Everett. Then, Tawyna said her mother was Billie.
Because of the chance meeting, we would often meet at so-called EHS reunion meetings. It was always like we were neighbors who had just finished talking over fence.
Billie was always wonderful to the both of us. We will miss her.
