My Uncle Charlie will always and forever hold a special place in my heart. I remember him with my mom and how he would always say Judy Judy Judy, to her and you knew what was commin next. Charlie touched the hearts and souls of so many people and he will live on thru all of us and his friends, co-workers and his other family. I love you Uncle Charlie and miss you so very much.

Charlie, Thanks for my first pizza, for being a helpful fellow tutor in Wesleyan's Upward Bound Program, for accompanying me to RDU to welcome my dad from South America for graduation, for being such a gracious and kind neighbor in Edgecombe dorm, and for all your other acts of kindness and compassion that were always a natural fabric of yours. I am a better man for having met you, Charlie. You will forever occupy a spot in my heart. Farewell, good friend.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Charlie's passing.
I knew Charlie throught the Theater Dept at NC Weslyan. Recently, I found some old pictures of us during "The Tale of the Golden Goose" he was the King and I was his Queen"Magnifi-Kate".
What wonderful memories...dancing, laughing, rolling eyes. He made a positive difference in so many lives and though we had lost touch, he'll always be in a special corner of my heart.

Words cannot express my sorrow & heartfelt loss at the news of Charlie's passing. I knew him whilst we were at NC Wesleyan together. Charlie was an all-around great guy and an integral part of the campus theater scene. I only knew him casually as we moved in different circles but he was member of the NCWC community and that was good enough for me to call him a friend. It was always good to run into him at alumni functions. Those who knew him bot at and after Wesleyan will be grateful for their memories of Charlie for that is all we have now.

I met Charlie through the BMA, like many of his acquaintances. Charlie was a rare person to come across in our times. His friendly character and honest sincerity was electric, and I was tickled many times at the Ghandi-like approach he took to life (and BMA events). Karen and I would like to express our condolences to the family. Charlie was truly sent on too early, far too early. We will raise a glass of fine wine and proclaim a toast to Charlie very soon.

Charlie was a very special friend of mine and I will miss him tremendously.
I have so many wonderful memories that I will treasure forever; from all our great dinners out, all the fantastic trips we took, volunteering at the Special Olympics, The Boeing Classic, and all the fun times we had at the Husky Games. I also had the pleasure of being his partner for the past few years attending the Broadway Plays at the 5th Avenue. Oh how he loved the plays and he had the best seats in the house "First Row".
I am blessed to have known Charlie as he was a very thoughtful and caring person. He will have a piece of my heart forever.

Jeff & I were very sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. We had seen him several times over this past month of illness. We will cherish our memories of spending our vacation with him at the OBX; it was a treat to visit his favorite places that we'd heard so much about. He was such a devoted member of the BMA, and I feel lucky to have known him through that affiliation. We enjoyed his stories of his "Big Chill" weekends, his love of the Huskies and all things North Carolina, and extend our sympathies to his many friends and family members.

Charlie was the kindest and most caring man I knew. He was always there to help and encourage others to help by providing great opportunities to be involved. The way he treated the ladies was with a care not often seen anymore. I was blessed to have his mentorship in the BMA and to be with him at many activites. His efforts and kind heart will live on with the actions he had taken and the lives he touched.

Kathie and I have known Charlie for many years through work at Boeing and the Boeing Management Association. He was a very good friend to us and our family, and would bend over backwards to ensure that things were going right. He was truley a man of principals, and a friend like Charlie does not come along every day. He will be missed greatly.

I first met Charlie in 1978, when we went through Boeing Orientation together. At that time, we were two young strangers united in our excitement to start our respective new jobs. Over the next twenty plus years, our paths would continue to cross in both work and play. Charlie was one of the most gentle and kind people I have known. He was always there to lend a hand whether it was planning an event, offering advice or rolling up his sleeves and going to work. I especially remember the great times we had working on the BMA golf tournament and enjoying company at a party. I will never forget the beautiful Carolina Blue Dotted-Swiss dress he gave my first-born daughter some 29 years ago. It was always one of my favorites. Nor will I ever forget his great smile & laugh, especially when he was driving his convertible. My husband, Mike and I both feel blessed to have known Charlie. I know he is carrying a lot of love with him as he continues on his next journey.

Charlie was a volunteer for the Boeing Classic Champions Tour Golf Tourney for the past five years at the Snoqualmie TPC Golf Course. He was a corner stone of the Volunteer Center Committee and had accepted the position of co-chair of that committee for 2010. Courtesy and dependablility were second nature to Charlie.
All of us will miss Charlie, we were fortunate to see him in November on the Husky Cruise to Mexico.

I am so blessed to have known Charlie. We had many good times together in Ry Mt. and I'm glad we stayed in touch. It makes me giggle to think of some of the things we used to do. Charlie always made me smile. You will be missed my friend.

Jean and Jo, as I told you on the phone I have nothing but fond memories of Charlie. We traveled to Germany and Austria together his junior year and my senior year. We had a blast. Charlie was a huge part of Wesleyan and ADX. Charlie and I hung around with the same crowd and we had a great time. As others have stated he was a thoughtful and caring person and had every quality that would make a mom proud. You had a son that will bring warm and fuzzy feelings to all that will remember him. I hope that you both can find some peace and comfort in knowing that Charlie touched so many lives. I will talk to you soon. Susan Hinton Davis RMT

To all Charlie's friends, especially his family and fraternity brothers, we thank you for your love and support. We hope that we have expressed in the Telegram obituary how much all of you meant to Charlie. God Bless.

I am deeply sad to know that Charlie has left us but happy to know he is now on his next journey of life. My words cannot express my respect I carried toward Charlie, because he was a true 'Southern Gentleman' and believed the best in people. This belief he had in people, was one of his greatest strengths, whom ever he met, became a better person because Charlie had a way to let them know he believed in them. Charlie, I respect you and pray your next journey is as full and the journey you shared with us here on earth.

My fondest memory of Charlie was his enthusiasm for "Young Frankenstein". He was working at a movie theater and after getting me hooked on the movie, I have seen it 62 times, he showed up with a poster from the theater which I have to this day mounted on my living room wall. I did not lose touch with Charlie over the years but wish I had been better about staying in touch.

From a young age, Charlie always played a big role in my life. Though we may not have been family by blood, he was still my Uncle Charlie. Growing up I was fortunate enough to have spent time with Charlie going to movies, plays, dinner, and even volunteering with him with the special olympics. He always wanted what was best for me and those he loved. His personality was big and his heart was even bigger. I will always love you Charlie and I miss you every day. My heart is broken but I know you are in a better place.

It is with great sorrow that we learn of Charlie's passing. We worked with Charlie at Boeing for many years. He was one of the nicest, most generous people we have ever met.
He will be greatly missed, but the memories and the stories will remain with us.

I met Charlie years ago, early on in our Boeing careers, when he and Dean tried to teach me to golf and bowl. Every time was an adventure. I can't begin to give justice to all the fun times we had.
May you be in peace now, Charlie.

I hardly know what to say. Charlie and I have been very close friends for over 30 years. And through it all he delighted and amazed me. He made me laugh hysterically, he made me cry, and I've never known anyone whose company I'd rather be in. I adored him. For whatever reason, he took comfort in my presence, and so I was given the gift of being with him at the end of his life. I will always be grateful that I was allowed to be with such an amazing, complicated, wonderful, WONDERFUL giving man at such a time. Charlie, I will always love you, and I look forward to seeing you again some day.

Charlie enriched my life in so many ways. He was instrumental in getting me to the live theater, Special Olympics, traveling and best of all fine dining. He was such a great friend. I could always count on him anytime I needed a friend. I just can't imagine my life without him...Jo Ann Schomer.

Charlie was one of my best friends, I live in Suffolk, Va and would check his weather before "Hathaway" and I would go out for our even walk so I could call Charlie and tell him how nice our weather was in Va. It's not the same walking the dog without calling Charlie. He will be missed by all who knew him, Chi's and Phi's.

Oh Charlie, I am so sad to see you go, but like Robert said, you hurt no more. You have been such an icon in our world. I remember first meeting you at Wesleyan our freshman year. What a guy and that only grew bigger. It seemed like no matter what, you were there for everyone. I thank you for being there for me.

WOW...trying to find words to describe Charlie...larger than life itself...such a vibrant exciting personality...so funny...I first met Charlie in 1979 when I had the good fortune to be placed in the desk right next to his. Oh my, the fun times we had, it's a miracle we ever got any work done! He was Best Man at our wedding in 1982 and I can remember him having so much fun dancing with the hula dancers at our outdoor Hawaiian Luau reception and drinking champagne mimosas!!! So many great memories, he will be missed forever...so sad that he passed away so young!!!

I am a better person because Charlie was a part of my life. The last time I heard from Charlie he said that dialysis "hurt." As my husband said so well when hearing of Charlie's death, "He hurts no more." Personally, I believe he is now the social director of Alpha Delta Chi-Heaven Chapter! And, yes he's helping the Lord get ready for the ultimate CHI reunion. I'll always love you, Charlie.

I met Charlie back in the early '80s, and we instantly became friends. My favorite memories are when a group of us would go up to Lopez Island. Back then there were no cash machines up there, and Charlie said it was as close to camping as he wanted to get. He was a shining example of a true gentleman - he will be loved and missed forever.

Charlie was a dear friend and mentor during my time at Boeing. I called him "the alpha maile of Boeing." He admitted to secretly managing Boeing behind the scenes. He was cranky, insolent, arrogant, loving and loyal. There is no one like him.
