Daniel Tune Obituary

Daniel Gene Tune

Dan Tune, 60, of Everett, Washington, passed away suddenly on December 8, 2012. He was born in Everett on September 29, 1952 to Jean Callahan and Gene Tune.
He grew up in Everett, where he started his family and worked at Scott Paper Company for many years. Dan cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, and took great comfort in his faith.
For Dan, the year began with the college football season, and he loved having family and friends over to watch his beloved Huskies. He was an avid hiker and camper, instilling in his children a love for the outdoors. Dan was a great cook, and everyone looked forward to the bonfires he would host with his friend Rick. He loved spending time every week with his grandson Chance to talk about Angry Birds and Ninja Turtles and invent games. Dan's greatest pleasures included listening to the Beatles, reminiscing, and heading off to bingo on Monday nights with his brother Steve.
Dan is survived by his son, Cory Tune; and daughters, Demarie Werth, Angela Tune, and Tory Peck; brother, Steve Callahan; and sisters, Tracie Brown, Melissa Sieloff, Teresa Tune, and Linda Boe; grandchildren, Jaymin, Demitrius, Kya, Chance, Baylee, and Taylor; his constant four-legged companion, Mason; and many friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Callahan and Gene Tune; and brothers, Chris Tune, and Mike Callahan and Ricky Callahan.
Everyone who knew Dan will miss his kind heart, sharp wit, warm smile, and contagious laugh.
Services will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.

My memories of Dan go way back to when I was a youngster in the neighborhood. He and my brother Mike were about the same age. As I grew older, I would see him often and he treated me as a friend rather than just the younger brother of a friend. I have fond memories of going to Husky games in the van, tailgating before and after.
Dan was very softspoken and had a very calm sense about him. He adored his children as they did he. I have not seen him for many years, niether has my brother Mike, but will keep good thoughts of him as he has been called home. The Hayes family sends heartfelt condolences to all of the family of Dan Tune and pray for God to comfort you. Rest Well Dan

I was fortunate enough to be a co-worker of Danny's at Scott Paper, both at Paper Shipping and the Tuberoom. He was a great guy to work with, a total Husky Football Fanatic and outdoor enthusiast. A person you really didnt mind working a graveyard shift with because he made the time go by a little faster. A really decent guy at heart who had his share of problems as we all do. You are in a better place now, Dan, My heartfelt condolences to his children and family. RIP, Dan.

I was a tubemaker with Dan at Scott Paper for at least 5 years. He was a fun coworker and I considered him a friend. I'll never forget his passion for the Huskies and hiking. I haven't been at the mill since 1999, but still have fond memories from all of my former coworkers from the mill. We were all family. It is so sad he passed so young. My condolences to the remaining family and my best wishes to you all.
