David Manus Obituary

Heaven gained an angel with a big booming voice who gave the best hugs ever. David G. Manus, 72, passed away October 24, 2016, at his daughter's home in Snohomish, WA. He was born on July 29, 1944, in Seattle, WA and was raised in Ballard, graduating from Ballard High School in 1962. He was veteran of the US Air Force, serving from 1962-1969. Dave is survived by his son, Adam Manus (Annette), daughter, Kimberly Manus; sister, Sandra Manus Salomon (Raul), brothers, Dan Manus and Bud Undi (Kris); six grandchildren (Jessica, Shayna, Quinton, Riley, Savannah, and Grace), four great-grandchildren (Pax, Abel, Raiden and Lana), nieces Pilar and Alexis, "son" Jamie Green, an amazing extended family and a host of long-time friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mildred Manus and life-long love, Lonnie. We are certain that huge hugs were exchanged as Dave reunited with loved ones in Heaven. We will miss his ever-optimistic attitude and big "Top of the World!" response whenever anyone asked how he was doing. This man was truly exceptional. He was the most devoted, loving son/father/grandpa/great-grandpa any family could ask for. He gave until he had nothing to give, and then he gave some more. To say he was our Rock is an understatement. Dad, we will miss you and think of you every day. Thank you for everything. You are so very loved. A Celebration of Dave's Life will be held November 19, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Allen Creek Community Church, 7314 44th Ave NE, Marysville, WA. Guests are invited to wear Seattle Seahawks team colors, jerseys, etc. Please join us to celebrate and honor this amazing man.

We all lost a good Friend, when Dave passed..He was a Big Man in many ways..Always smiling, with a great sense of humor..His compassion for others, was also displayed during our many conversations..Very talented, with a deep singing voice..Nobody sang "Old Man River" in karaoke better than Dave...A Life we shared in Friendship; that will never be forgotten..

Dave was a good Friend, and after His passing; I've never forgotten him..His deep voice, and friendly personality was contagious. I have a montage of Karaoke Party photos hanging in my home. Dave's face and smile is scattered throughout the many pictures..He was large in stature; yet soft and gentle. A fine example of what a good Friend should be.

Dave's Heart was as big as he was..Always cordial, smiling, and friendly. He was there if you needed something. He had this additional gift; a beautiful speaking and singing voice..A voice so deep and proud..He was genuine, and he never pretended to be someone else...Dave I'll miss you at all my karaoke parties, plus the Fred Meyer fried chicken you always brought..Your Spirit will never be forgotten. God Bless You, and thank you for being my Friend.

Love and miss you Dad! You left us all too soon, and you are sorely missed!!!!! I can't help but smile every time I think of you, your humor, your big "can you hear me in the back" voice; and your loving devotion to your family and friends. Those who were fortunate enough to know you, were truly blessed! Heaven has gained a treasured angel! I'll miss you....and I promise to always love and look out for your beautiful princess!!!!

Many memories growing up with the parents watching football and socializing at each others houses. Lots of welcoming bear hugs and a peck on the cheek. Always a warm heartfelt smile. You are greatly missed!
