Denis Dahl

1950 - 2022

Denis Martin Dahl, age 71 passed away peacefully on April 18th 2022 in Granite Falls, Washington. He was born on June 1, 1950 in Cando, North Dakota to Per (Pete) and Laura Jane (McCarthy) Dahl. The family moved to Harvey, North Dakota in 1956 and then due to better work opportunities, moved to Bellevue, Washington in 1966, where Denis attended high school. His first job was with BC Hawk Chevrolet. Denis was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 86 from July 1975 to July 1998. His Catholic faith and attendance to Mass was most important to his life here on earth. He consistently contributed to the needy, St. Jude, Christians for the Holocaust Survivors, among various others. Denis had an anonymous kindness toward folks, giving unexpected gifts, even to his last day. He had a unique style, loved life and lived it to the fullest. Even on his last leg, there was very little that held him back. He loved traveling, (recently returned from a 3 month trip to Arizona in his motorhome) seeing new places and meeting new people. Denis is preceded in death by his father, Per (Pete), mother, Laura and sister, Madonna. He is survived by his brother, Doug, Marysville, Wa; two sons, Dakota (Alexandra) and Christian Per; two beloved lights of his life, his granddaughters, Harlow Kay and Alia. A celebration of life will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lake Stevens, Wa on Friday, May 6th 2022 at 6:00pm. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Cando, North Dakota.
