Dixie Lou McKellar (Ventioner), age 82, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2022 in Spokane Valley, WA surrounded by family from Washington, Alaska, and Washington, D.C. She was born on August 8, 1940 in Gridley, CA to Neil Ventioner and Pauline (Moore).
Dixie married Robert W. McKellar (Bill) in June 1958 in Alma, MI. She traveled wherever Bill was stationed with the Air Force, eventually settling in Arlington, WA upon his retirement in 1977. She was the home maker of the family where she loved to cook. Together they had four children. When Bill passed in 2016, she moved to Colville, WA to live with their eldest son and wife.
She is survived by her brother Neil Ventioner (Orangevale, CA); her four children and spouses Robert and Kris (Colville), Roy and Shawn (Colville), Patricia and Scott (Maple Falls, WA), and Peggy Sue and Rocky (Arlington, WA); her seven grandchildren, Gary and Michelle (Homer, AK), Jennifer and Ben (Spokane Valley, WA), Steven (Marysville, WA), Jessica and Nick (Arlington), Robert and his wife Rachel (Washington, D.C.) Neil (Pullman, WA), and Elizabeth (Colville); seven great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.
Dixie will be laid to rest with her husband Bill at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA at a date to be determined.
