Donna Armstrong Obituary

Donna Louise Armstrong of Everett, WA, passed away on December 16, 2017, at her home. She was 77. Donna was born January 26, 1940, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle to Clarice and Norman McCausland. A small town girl, she grew up with two older brothers in Skykomish, WA. While she always had an infinite love for her home town, logging and railroad work weren't the future for her. After graduating from a senior class of nine at Skykomish High School, Donna moved to Everett, WA, and began her working career at General Telephone (GTE) where she would eventually retire after 33 years of service. Two years after moving to Everett, Donna became pregnant with her first born son, David. She and David spent the next eight years conquering life together until she met her future husband, Michael in 1968. Mike and Donna were married two years later and began building a life together that would introduce their youngest son Darren to the world in 1972. Shortly after, they bought their first home in Everett where they would raise their family. In those days, Donna loved to cook and entertain family and friends which included neighborhood block parties and summer family gatherings. Above all, she had an unwavering love for her boys and was a stern and astute provider to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dennis and Stuart McCausland and in 2012 by her son, David McCausland. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael Armstrong, her son, Darren (Wendy), of Everett, brother-in-law, Dr. Robert E. Armstrong (Nita) of Houston, TX, sisters-in-law, Sharon L. Silvers (Earl) of Puyallup, WA, Carol McCausland of Edmonds, WA, and Bonnie McCausland of Skykomish. At Donna's request, there will be no service in her honor but a Celebration of Life will be announced to family and friends in January, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's Memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.

I was a good friend and close neighbor of Donnas in Skykomish and have good memories of our times together. She was just one year ahead of me in School and was a cheerleader and on the drill team etc. I am sorry to see her go and may she rest in peace.
