Dwayne Ort Obituary

Dwayne Allen Ort

Dwayne Allen Ort passed away of natural causes on January 1, 2009.
Dwayne was born to Hiram and Catherine Ort in Mile City, Montana on December 10, 1934. His family moved to Bothell, Washington in 1941 where he attended school, graduating from Bothell High School in 1952. After graduation, Dwayne spent a short period as a "Powder Monkey" blowing things up before joining the Seattle Fire Department in 1957. He retired in 1982. Dwayne loved gardening and his hobbies included fishing, pool and rock hunting and hiking with his family. Dwayne also was an avid pack rat collecting pictures and treasures from the darndest places. But his greatest attribute was helping anyone that needed a hand, loyal and honest to a fault.
He will be eternally missed by all those who knew him and of course by his children, Mark, Brad and Teresa Ort; his daughter-in-law, Cindy Ort; sisters, Cay Stratton and Darlene Hornibrook; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son, David.
A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Terracotta Red Restaurant, 2820 Hewitt Avenue in Everett 98201 (corner of Hewitt and Pine St.).

Dwayne was a one of a kind guy.
He was always upbeat and willing to give you a hand, and when he did something it was done to perfection.

He was a gifted man of many talents
and will be missed by all who knew him.
