Erik Christian Larsen

1969 - 2025

Erik Christian Larsen, 55, of Shingle Springs, CA passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025 after complications from a stroke. Erik was protective of his past and guarded his privacy fiercely-in much the same way he was protective of his family and friends. A Viking through and through, his relentless and stubborn nature was both his most glaring vulnerability and his greatest strength-which he was eventually able to harness to the extent that his later years had more joy than pain.

Erik graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1987 and spent the next couple of decades roaming from state to state, eventually settling in California. It was here that he found his wife Lyn, and her family willing to accept him into their lives. These relationships allowed Erik the opportunity to share his love, knowledge and exuberance for life.

Erik's sophomoric sense of humor and excitement about adventures drew him especially close to his new nieces and nephews. He taught them how to paddleboard, bait a hook and go camping. They taught him the profound connections to be enjoyed through genuine interactions. His quick smile and ability to make those around him laugh were qualities that never faltered. Erik's undeniable energy and eagerness to experience all life had to offer will remind those he left behind to fully and actively live life and to love loudly.

Erik is survived by his loving wife Siang "Lyn" Lee, daughter Nevada Jennings and grandchildren Naleah, Carson and Haizley, parents Jan (Lorrie) Larsen, Carola Benassi, brother Pete (Cheryl) Larsen, in-laws Tiaw Hock (Ah Gek) Lee, Paul (Linda) Lee, Wei Song (Linsey) Lee, nieces and nephews Gia, Kaleb, Celeste, Connor, Cerise, Carissa, Helen and Alex, and many aunts, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
