Everett Brown Obituary

"Charlie" Brown

Everett H. Brown Jr.
"Charlie", born in Saint Paul, Virginia, May 19, 1940, went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2013.
Charlie resided in Lake Stevens, WA for 48 years. He was in the Air Force for six years, serving in North Africa and later at Paine Field, Everett where he met his lovely wife, Janice, at the Everett Roller-skating Rink. He later worked at Western Gear and retired from Boeing in 2000. Before retirement he went fishing with friends, eventually buying his own boat so he could be the 'captain'. In retirement he eagerly awaited the opening of salmon and crab seasons each year. He also enjoyed watching Mariners baseball, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Charlie served as a Deacon of his church, Lake Stevens Assembly of God. He had an active social life and loved to fellowship with his friends from church and with everyone else he met.
In his younger years he enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and hunting, taking week long trips into the wilderness with his family and friends several times each year. He was actively involved in Royal Rangers activities at church, being a great role model to the young boys he taught about Jesus. He and his wife enjoyed square dancing with the Hillbilly Square Dance club and various other clubs over the years. For the remainder of his life he
continued to wear the
"western" style snap shirts that were so popular with square dancers.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice Brown; daughters, Melissa Brown (Don Adams) and Barb (Alex) Thibert; granddaughters, Kaitlin, Molly, Amanda, and Dakota; great grandson, Kaison; step-father, Earl Eaddy (Marjorie) of Florida; and sister, Nell Shortt of Virginia; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and his many friends at the Puget Sound Kidney Center in Smokey Point for their compassionate care and friendship for the past seven years.
In loving memory of Charlie, a memorial service will be held on Saturday August 10, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Lake Stevens Assembly of God Church located at 9805 31st Place NE. Lake Stevens, WA 98258.

so sorry to hear this. He will always be the original charlie brown in my book. He was quite the character to follow around. I used to live across the field, at the shipleys, and the browns would watch me and my borther when I was little. I have very fond memories at their place. You are in my prayers as you all start a different and new journey.
I am the granddaughter of the shipleys by the way!!

Living down the road from Melissa and Barb, and nearly the same age; my sister and I spent many summers of our youth at the Browns. I have very fond childhood memories, I believe it would be hard to think of a memory without them in it. My thoughts are with Janice, and certainly with both Melissa and Barb...

Dad, we love and miss you so very much. We feel so blessed that we are able to spend so much time with you the past several months laughing and crying and helping you in your time of need. You touched so many people's lives and it has been comforting hearing stories and memories shared by so many people.
