Florence Fleck Obituary

Florence A. Fleck

Florence A. (Fiechtner) Fleck, 81, of Everett, passed away peacefully June 23, 2007. Florence was born on December 30, 1925, in Selfridge, ND. Florence left Selfridge and moved to Tacoma, WA, during high school to work as a welder at Todd Ship Yards to support the war effort. She was always very proud to have worked as a welder during the war as well as Boeing at various times in her life. After the war, she returned to Selfridge where she married her childhood sweetheart, Ray Fleck, on December 20, 1945. Ray and Florence moved to Washington in the fifties.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and two of her three brothers.
Florence is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ray; by her children, Clay (Deborah), Deborah McFadden (Tony Campbell) and Rebecca (Shawn Rutledge); her grandchildren, Jaime Dughi (Jonathan), Keely McFadden, Travis (Erin), Tyler, and Chantee; her great-grandson, Roarey; as well as her extended family members who were always in her heart.
Florence loved being a mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family who will miss her tremendously. Florence loved to read and garden and she was a talented dancer and singer.
A mass for Florence will be held at 11 a.m., on July 21, 2007, at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 8717 7th Ave S.E. Everett, WA. with a reception following. All family and friends, who would like to celebrate Florence's life with us, are welcome to attend.

Dear Ray and family,

So many years have gone by, and I was taken aback to read of Florence's passing. I am sorry for your loss. Ray, I worked as your secretary soon after hiring into Boeing in 1979 up until your retirement. I have lots of memories from those days and have often wondered how you and your family were. Please accept my condolences.

I feel like family, I married into the Buckholt family in 1973 and met Florence and Ray. We have family movies of summer vacations at the ocean, Christmas and other holidays. My children also feel the family connection. I was so saddened to read of Florence's passing, but know of her strong faith, and am assured of her new home in heaven.
All my love to the family. I bet Keith and Reg were waiting there to meet you, Florence. I miss all three of you. See you there!
Love and prayers,
Paula Buckholt-Marshall

Oh how I miss the amazing family dinners Florence would prepare. Huge portions and a pie or two. Then after the table was cleared, plenty of love and attention for the grand children. Great memories that will last a life time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and my heart is filled with joy knowing that Florence is at peace with her Lord as she had planned.
