Florence Kutrich Obituary

Florence Pauline Kutrich (Lundquist)

Flossie, as she was known to her friends and family, went peacefully home to Jesus her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2012. She was born July 15, 1921, in Seattle, WA to Paul Benjamin Lundquist and Florence Mathilda Lundquist (Peterson).
She was the middle sibling of older sister, Ruth and younger sister, Helen. Ruth, 92, resides in Everett, WA and Helen passed away in September 1945.
She spent her youth in Everett, lived through the great depression, graduated from Everett High School in 1939, attended Mission Covenant Church and took her first job as a teller at Everett Trust and Savings. The exacting nature of this job remained with her throughout her life, as demonstrated by saved vacation notes complete with trip highlights, odometer readings, and lists of license plates she saw from other states.
Flossie married Robert "Bob" James Kutrich in 1949. They had three sons, Robert (1953), James (1956) and Thomas (1958) and raised them in Edmonds, WA. Bob, her husband of 34 years, passed away in May 1982. She lived in the same Edmonds home from 1962 until 2004 when she moved to Brighton Court in Lynnwood, WA.
She and her husband developed very special lifelong friendships with Bud and Margarite Bacon, Walt and Helen Helaas, Bert and Peggy Doph and Lloyd and MaryEllen Egge. The group met regularly for monthly dinners, summer picnics and many vacations. Of her many special friends, Phyllis Timmons was always there for her, even taking on the monumental task of teaching her to drive at age 61.
Flossie graciously responded to calls from God for her time and effort. One such call led to years of joyful service collecting, cataloging, packing and shipping medicine to global missionary hospitals for Medical Endeavors for Missions.
Flossie is survived by sons, Robert (Lori Lawson), James (Lynda Arms) and Thomas (Laurie Rinaldi); seven grandchildren, Paul, Peter, Adam, Luke, Kari, Elizabeth, and Andy; and three great-grandchildren, Aryanna, Lucian, and Macey; nieces, Cathy and Leeann; and nephews, Tim, Rick, and Kurt.
Please join us for a celebration of Flossie's life at Edgewood Baptist Church, 20406 – 76th Avenue West, Edmonds, on Friday, April 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
Memorials may be sent to Wycliffe Bible Translators or Seattle's Union Gospel Mission.

My entire life I have heard stories, seen pictures and had numerous visits with the Old Bank Bunch. Flossie being one of them. She was a huge part of my Grandparents life therefore mine too. She will be missed and I will remember her as being such a good friend to my Grandma and Grandpa and all the fun, exciting adventures that group had. Everyone was truly blessed to have had Flossie in their lives. She will be missed.
