Frank Coffey Obituary

Frank James Coffey, Sr (RMC-SS)

Frank Coffey of Camano Island, WA passed away on February 27, 2025. Born on March 23, 1939, in Alameda, CA, Frank joined the Navy at 17 and served 20 years retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He loved to share stories of his time as a submariner to anyone who would listen.

Frank retired from the Navy to Lynwood, WA where he worked at Safeco Insurance until retiring to Camano Island. There he would volunteer with the Neighborhood Watch Program. He was an avid golfer and master gardener. Frank had a love of cooking, and every Saturday you would find him in his chair watching cooking channels. Sundays would consist of chef-style meals showcasing the latest techniques he had learned.

He was married to Bernice "Sally" Coffey just shy of 60 years. His love of the sea never waned. He and Sally would take many cruises to different ports of call. Frank was preceded in death by his sister Judy Coffey. Sally would follow him just four months later. Survived by his daughter Denise (Chris) Canonica and son, Frank (Wendy) Coffey Jr and grandchildren Chelsea, Megan and Madison, and Killian and great-grandchildren Echo and Luna.
