Frank Emme Obituary

Frank Herman Emme

Frank Herman Emme, 75, passed away on December 24, 2009 in Edmonds, Washington from complications associated with Parkinson's disease. He was born October 13, 1934, in Seattle, Washington, and was a resident of Lynnwood, Washington for the past 58 years.
Frank is survived by his wife, Betty Emme of 50 years; his sister, Amelia Anderson; his children, Alex Emme, Kelli Bednarz and Eric Emme; his grandchildren, Nicole Long, Erik Emme, Alexa Bednarz, Taylor Bednarz, Alex Emme II, and Nicolas Emme; and his great-granddaughter, Alaina Emme.
Frank graduated from Edmonds High School in 1952. At 19 he began working for the Seattle Monstano Facility (eventually Rhone Poulec) until his retirement in 1992. Shortly after his start at Monsanto, he answered our Nation's calling when he was drafted into the US Army. He served two years as a paratrooper before returning to home. It was during his station at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, that he met his to-be wife, Betty.
Frank was tireless in his service to his community. At 18, he started his 15 year tenure as a volunteer fireman for Snohomish County. He was a member of the Jaycees; including several terms as president of the Lynnwood Chapter and also volunteered his time as a baseball and football coach to local youth organizations.
In his free time, Frank was an avid golfer. His introduction to golf came at age 10, when he was a caddy at Seattle Country Club. He eventually became a chartering member at the Snohomish Golf Club, where he enjoyed three holes-in-one during his playing career there; two on #13 and one on #5. He also served as the Club's President and Treasurer for many years.
Services will be held at 12 p.m., on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Esperance Church of Edmonds, 7812 224th St SW, Edmonds, WA 98020 (425.776.2228).

January 23, 2010
I was with Frank and Wendell Wydrick, when Frank made his Ace the second time on the #13 at the golf course. He had the biggest smile on his face. I had really enjoyed knowing Frank the few years of time I had known him. Gordon Stradley

To Sue, Kelli, Alex, Eric and families, please accept our deepest sympathy. Frank's picture tells so much about him. We will always remember the great times we had together coaching our boys, going on vacations to Seaside, and dancing at the Eagle's with the Kyle's and Long's. Your friendship will always be with us forever.

I was so saddened when I read about Frank. We were neighbors in Lynnwood until I moved in 1974. While memories fade after 35 years the one thing I will always remember is his laugh and wonderful smile.

Frank was a very close and dear friend. He fit in right away with his Edmonds classmates when he entered our school as a senior. His humorous personality drew people to him. He, myself, and many others had numerous fun times together.
Sue, you know we are all here for you if you need any help.
