Sorry for your loss. I worked with Fred at Edmonds QFC, I worked in the grocery department. With Fred coming from working at a slaughterhouse he had knew production well, and knew how to push a crew! When we received our fax machines (hi tech back then) Fred was the first one to send jokes via fax to all the stores and main office, which stopped very soon. One day Fred filled a bucket of water had a ladder and help from another worker and held it up with a broom handle, waited for a delivery driver who was coming in asked hime to hold it for a minute, and then went on his break.. Driver was wet and pissed.. Had many funny times and he had so much energy, and a Can Do attitude. Fred moved up in management rapidly, in various roles. I worked with Fred at Mega Foods in Snohomish between 93 and 94 which was the busiest store in the Olson chain. QFC bought Olson Foods, and stores splintered off in the sale. I learned many good things from Fred. Sorry for your loss.

Rest in Peace Fred. I worked with Fred at Olsons/QFC, he was my meat manager for a few years during that time. Quite the character and tease. I will always have fond memories. My condolences to his family.

As kids, we did a lot of exploring the woods, lakes, and rivers. Fred and I fished on Camano Island when he first moved there. I don't even think we had a fishing license, we always came home with fish. Fred was a good brother. Sometimes we had our differences but in the end, we were always good. Fred had a good heart and would help you whenever you asked, never saying no. Seeing Fred fade as he was the older brother and always the leader was tough. Cindy and I were lucky to visit Fred and enjoy a cocktail with him a few days before he passed. Fred was in good spirits till the end. Fred will be missed by many.

Didn't get to spend enough time with Uncle Fred but the memories I do have echo what was said already "He was such a funny man". I'll never forget going to the Slaughterhouse, feeding the Oscars, fishing the Green River and of course his voice and laugh. Thinking of you Uncle Fred, spending time with your amazing son Nathan Fred Taft Evans. Love to you both!
