Gary R. Weber Gary Robert Weber, 76, of Pine Ridge, FL, died suddenly at his home on September 1, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Gary was born May 17, 1942 in Everett, WA, to Robert and Loretta (Pfeifer) Weber. A graduate of Lake Stevens High School, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Chemistry from the University of Washington and went on to earn his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Arizona State University. In June of 1965 he married Jose' (Ricard) with whom he shared 53 years of love, happiness, two wonderful children and many adventures. Gary enjoyed 32 years as a Research Scientist for Bell Telephone Laboratories in Murry Hill, NJ, where he and his teams developed and patented a number of processes. After retirement he joined four former Bell Lab employees to start Inplane Photonics. Later he retired again and he and Jose' moved to Citrus County, FL. An avid gardener and all-around handy man Gary enjoyed working on cars, trucks, houses and his boats. He loved sailing his catamaran, Diode, on the Chesapeake Bay and down the ICW. Tennis was his favorite sport and he relished travelling and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Jose', Gary is survived by his daughter, Michelle of Flemington, NJ, grandsons, Stefan and Jordan; his sisters, Janice Broz of Redmond, WA, Karel Lee Taylor (David) of Fernley, NV, and Pamela Jensen (Chuck) of Marysville, WA; brother-in -law, Michael Ricard (Kathy) of Livermore, CA, and sister-in-law, Suzanne Olson of Victoria, BC, Canada and six nieces, four nephews, nine grandnieces and eight grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kurt, and his parents, Bob and Loretta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Habitat for Humanity of Citrus Country Inc and would be appreciated. Cremation care is provided by McGan Cremation Service, LLC, Inverness, FL. Gary and Kurt will be interred on Friday September 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett, WA in the Eagles Garden, Section 531. Friends and family are cordially invited to join us.
