Glen Eaton Obituary

Glen Jarold Eaton, 84, of Sultan, Washington, passed away on October 1, 2023. Glen was fortunate to be born and raised near Mt. St. Helens, Washington, where he spent his childhood exploring the mountains and rivers near his home. Son of a logger and a housewife, Glen worked with his father in the logging industry until high school graduation, (Toutle Lake HS, valedictorian, 1956) when he joined the Air Force and became a radar technician in Alaska. Glen later earned a bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and enjoyed a full career designing everything from electrical controls on dams to neonatal medical equipment.

Glen was a life-long hunter, fisherman, mountaineer, and outdoorsman. Glen would often take a 20-mile hike just for exercise and the joy of being in the mountains. This love of the outdoors fueled his dedication to preserving the wild outdoors and the animals that live there for future generations to enjoy. Glen was a life member and volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, past president and volunteer for the Stilly-Snohomish Fisheries Enhancement Task Force, past member of Sultan and Snohomish County Sportsmen's Clubs, Hunter Safety instructor, Life member of the NRA and the Wild Sheep Foundation, and member of numerous other charities and organizations.

Glen had a passion for carpentry and remodeling. He took on the project of renovating his entire house, showcasing his skills and attention to detail. Additionally, he enjoyed spending time on his farm, tending to his garden, and raising pigs.

Glen is survived by his loving wife Karen Eaton, his daughters Denise Booth and Nannette Eaton, and stepchildren Nathan Zuber and Cynthia Gale. He is also survived by his siblings Roger Eaton, Joy Wetherald, and Jim Eaton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Glen was preceded in death by his first wife Nancy (Chase) Eaton, his parents Glen and Edith (Faust) Eaton, and his siblings Phil Eaton and Ila Denny.

For those who wish, donations in remembrance of Glen may be sent to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 5705 Grant Creek Road Missoula, MT 59808.
