Glendon Foye Obituary

Glendon Joseph Foye

Glen Foye passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on June 2, 2011. He was very proud of the fact that he lived his entire life of 90 years in the house in which he was born on July 13, 1920. He was a very humble and gentle man who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Glen was born into a dairy family who had homesteaded the property in the early 1900s. Glen attended the Tualco Grade School and graduated from Monroe High School. Following high school, Glen and his brother, Harry, managed the family dairy farm. When they retired from the dairy business they decided to cut and sell fire wood. Glen developed quite a group of clients and enjoyed visiting with them when they came to pick up their cords of wood. Glen was a former 25 year member of Tualco Grange and volunteered at the Sky Valley Food Bank.
Glen is survived by his sisters, Norma Wells, at the family home, and Rayma Birdsall (Richard), of Camano Island, WA. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom considered Glen their own personal hero.
A graveside gathering will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Foye family plot at IOOF Cemetery in Monroe followed by light refreshments at the family home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Sky Valley Food Bank or a charity of your choice.
