Grant Lawrence Obituary

Grant Lawrence, born in Seattle on July 10, 1937, to Les and Mildred Lawrence, passed away on May 3, 2025. He married Shari Olson in 1957. Grant taught in the Northshore School District (1960-1991), primarily at Crystal Springs. He and Shari lived in Woodinville where they raised their 3 kids with dogs, cats, and the pony for them to love. When Grant became Grampi his true talent came out. The grandkids never heard the word no. He loved being with them and hearing about their lives. Grant and Shari built their retirement home on Camano Island in 1995. Grant loved people and soon he and Shari had many friends on the island. Grant and Shari loved their family and they made sure their homes were gathering places for family by blood and family they made along the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Shari, and great granddaughter Kennedy. He is survived by his wife Mary. His children; Tad (Lynn), Jay (Patty), Jenna (Julie). Grandchildren; Brad(Kelli), Ben(Stephanie), Chalea(James), Kaitlin(CJ), Leslie, Emily(Matthew). Great Grandchildren; Blakelynn, Josh and Claire. Mary's daughter Reenie(Kadin) their sons Price and Parker, and Mary's son Howard.

Hospice of the Northwest made it possible for Grant to be home. They were wonderfully kind and patient. We are asking people to donate to this important program. www.hospicenw.org/foundation/give/

Grant, we always had a great time when we got together. You, my friend, have always been a true and compassionate patriarch and role model. You will be missed old friend but then, you are not really gone. You've only advanced to that next level we call Heaven, to prepare a place for when we meet again. Love you and ALL!!!!

I will forever remember Grant's generosity of spirit and that twinkle in his eye as he smiled at you. How wonderful it is to know someone like Grant who helps us remember the important things in life with a sprinkle of humor mixed in. I too will miss him and the happiness he brought to all of us who were fortunate enough to spend time with him. Thank you Grant.

Grant was indeed a very kind man. I got to know him after he married my sister, Mary Price almost 12 years ago. Our family enjoyed visiting their beautiful home on Camano Island. We will miss him dearly, as will our sister Mary most of all.
