Gurjit Bhangoo Obituary

Gurjit Singh "Bangs" Bhangoo Dec. 26, 1948–Nov. 23, 2014 Gurjit Singh Bhangoo left his earthly dwelling at the young age of 65, surrounded by his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a kind, compassionate, and a generous man with a great sense of humor, loving father, friend, family member, and colleague to many. At the age of 18 he set out to carve his path, beginning in the sky. He joined the Indian Navy and flew fighter jets and helicopters during his service to his country. After leaving the Navy, he moved to Canada where he met his wife, Subhashni Mohan. After a period of courtship they were married and moved to Everett, Washington where they started their family. In Everett, Gurjit continued to follow his passion for flight, working for the Boeing Company. Using his knowledge of planes and his love of aviation he turned a job into a distinguished 32 year career. With the respect and admiration of his colleagues and friends, he retired from Boeing in 2011 to pursue a more leisurely life. He succeeded in that endeavor, right up until his untimely departure. He is survived by his wife, Subhashni, his son Aneesh; his two brothers, brothers/sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; countless bhaisabs, a plethora of bhabis; and more friends than he ever thought possible. He will be deeply and truly missed by all who loved and respected him.

I Am so sorry for your loss of your
husband the love of your life- just know that his love lives on eternally forever in ever and I know in my heart you will be reunited with him one day in the spiritual realm where time stands still. I want you to know that I very much respected his professionalism and his peaceful nature; he always allowed me to just walk in his office to speak what was on my mind and "know that I was a young man just out from the Marines" but he always took a moment to listen and always had down to earth advice for me, I admired him so much because he was such a kind and gentle but firm man with such a beautiful loving heart and I feel blessed and am thankful to have known him. God bless you Bangs~

Dear Subashni:
Both Jess & I are sad to hear that Gurjit Bhai Sahib has bidden us all good bye. May Waheguru be with him and receive him with love and take good care of him.
We are sad for you and Anish as well. It is so, so very hard to send a loved one to Waheguru. Please accept out deepest condolences and well wishes.
Gurjit was one of the nicest people we met and will always remember him. We have a photo of all of us on the wall in our Family Area. Each time we show the picture wall to everyone, we always point out that picture and tell everyone how special you all are in our lives.
Take care and know that we are here should you need any help. Our love and hugs to both you and Anish. We will say a prayer for Gurjit and for you and Anish.
Much love

Subashni,
I'm so very sorry to hear of your loss. Gurjit will be missed by all those who knew him; no who knew him will ever forget him. He was one of those rare people who once you meet, you never forget. Everyone who ever worked with him, for him or around him is richer for the experience. I personally feel blessed to have known him just a little.

Please don't hesitate to call if there is anything at all I can do…or if you just want to talk and need someone to listen.
Your friend,
David.

I am so sorry to hear about Gurjit. I've worked with him way back and he was always direct and fair in bringing up the next generation. In some ways those that learned from him now carry on that influence. I hope that all is well and your family is carrying on.

Aunty It is so heart breaking to know about Uncle. The time I meet him, i know he was physically weak, but he was a struggler and you the most positive person. I was not expecting this news.
But God almighty has his own ways… I can just pray for that noble soul, who migrate from India and reached the height of success in Boeing and create a wonderful family. May God rest him in peace.

And my all condolences for that lady who is an ideal for many youngsters like me. and definitely Anish has lost a very Good friend and supporter. may God give you courage in this trouble time.

Dear Subhashini,
I have known him from our school days, our college days and there after, we both learnt flying at one of the oldest flying clubs of India. It was then that three of us young pilots from college, lead 26th january parade as the lead platoon proudly displaying our wings to the public. The day was bitter cold and our limbs were probably frozen yet, it was great feeling to be the leaders at our tender age of 17.
I must say that till he left Indian Navy to become an important person of Boeing, we remained as best of friends.
I also have the pride that you asked me to pen some thoughts on his 60th birthday.
I do feel a very big loss in his passing away. I am certain that God has granted him a place in his lotus feet.
I and Jasbir, will always remember our time spent with you all at Everett and your trips to Bay area..
May God give the strength to you to bear the loss.

My condolences to Subhashni, and her entire family. "Bangs" was a good man, and very dedicated to task.I remember him as a very quiet and thoughtful person, as well as determined and focused manager.
I watched "Bangs" from the time he hired in to the company, only to be hired into the management ranks upon his request, as he had confidence in the people he chose for his staff. I most thoroughly enjoyed working with him and for him at the Boeing company, his discipline was unmatched by his peers, and I did my best to follow his lead and advise, adding much to my own future successes.
May he rest in peace, He will be missed, but not forgotten, a generous person, and a pleasure to have known.

Bangs was a co-worker, mentor and best of all my friend. I remember when we talked him into bowling, be came with brand new clothes, shoes and ball, the same with golf that he loved so much. When he committed to something he was all in, just as he lived his life at work, with friends or family. He will be deeply missed and my heart goes out to Subhashni, his children and family. God Bless.
