Helene Marie Bayley

1950 - 2016

"A Long Goodbye" Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend Helene Marie Bayley passed away on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016. Helene lived with Early Onset Alzheimer's for 13 years, the last five she had resided at Josephine Sunset Home in the Memory Loss Unit under the loving and dedicated care of her nurses. A special thank you to: John Smith, Krista Wildman, Maria Diaz, Shawn Kellogg, and the many other staff who cared for her unconditionally. Helene was born in Everett, Washington on July 22, 1950, the only child to Kenneth and Grace Neihaus. She graduated from Cascade High School in 1968. Helene met the love of her life and soul mate Michael Bayley in 1966. They were married in 1969 at the age of 18. The marriage was blessed with two daughters and lasted 47 years. Helene will be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle personality and tender heart. She was a devoted wife, mother and nana. She had a special relationship with the elderly. Helene's greatest joy was being a nana. Helene was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Thomas Bayley; Uncle Jim and Aunt Edith Muldowney. She leaves behind her husband, Michael Bayley and their two daughters, Michelle (Sam) King of Marysville, Wash., and Allison (Pat) Budke of Chugiak, Alaska, as well as four grandchildren: Cody, Bayley, Dylan and Dawson. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Iris "Georgina" Bayley; many dear family members and friends. A Celebration of Helene's life will take place this summer.
