Henry Cook Obituary

In the presence of loved ones, Henry (Hank) James Cook peacefully passed on December 9, 2023, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston Idaho after suffering injuries from a fall. Hank was born on March 12, 1941, in Tecumseh Nebraska, to Henry and Florence (Cady) Cook and lived his childhood in Pawnee, Nebraska.

Hank served in the Navy from June of 1960, receiving a termination of active duty in June of 1962 and an honorable discharge in January of 1965.

Hank met and married his lifelong partner Connie Arndt in 1963 and lived in Columbus, Nebraska before moving their family to Marysville, Washington in 1966 where they raised their children Tony and Deneen.

As a Lineman for the Snohomish County PUD, Hank enjoyed serving his community for 30 years, he was commended and awarded for his actions in saving the life of a fellow lineman in February of 1968. Hank elected to take an early retirement in 1996 from the Snohomish County PUD and he and Connie settled in Grangeville, and later Lewiston, Idaho to enjoy small town living and a slower pace of life.

Hank had many hobbies to fill his days including restoring vintage cars, hunting, and gardening. He was an active member in the Camas Prairie Car Club and enjoyed spending time with Connie on their many trips to various car shows to showcase his work and love for vintage cars.

Hank was a great role model and enjoyed sharing his talents and passions with his kids, grandkids, and nephews.

Hank is survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Connie, niece Carol Brewer, children Tony (Stephanie) of Sitka, Alaska, and Deneen Mulligan (Maurice King) of Marysville, Washington, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center are appreciated.
