My condolences to the Kearney family. I am saddened to hear about the passing of Hiroko. Hiroko was one of my first supervisors when I started work at Providence Hospital in 1992. I was a PT/OT assistant and was shared between the Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy departments. It was an honor and privilege to work with Hiroko. She was professional, kind and caring. She was wonderful with the patients. I worked with Hiroko for around 9 months until my hours were reduced. She recommended that I apply for Patient Transportation, where I still work to this date 33 years after being hired at Providence. If it were not for Hiroko, I would not have known about the Patient Transportation department. After the merger of Providence Hospital and Everett General Hospital in 1994, my job moved away from the Pacific campus and over to the Colby campus, but I sometimes still thought about my roots at the Pacific campus and Hiroko. I still keep in touch with some of the "old school" Occupational Therapists here at Providence on Colby and would talk to them about Hiroko. During one of these conversations, I learned of Hiroko passing. My life is better for having known Hiroko. May her family find comfort in knowing how many people she helped and how much she changed many people's lives.

Mike and Bernie,
There are no words we can express on how sorry we are of the passing of your mother. Hiroko was a special friend to our mother (Michiko Henrickson) and was an important part of her life. Hiroko was a source of support for my sisters and I when our mother passed away. Their lives were very similar and we know their friendship meant the world to our mother.
Our deepest condolences for the entire Kearney family.

Deepest condolences to Mike and Bernie. I met the Kearney family in the early 1970´s as a very young child. That was the beginning of a life long friendship. Mike and Bernie quickly became like my brothers and I thought of Hiroko and Pat as my second parents. Hiroko was such a happy pleasant supporting lady. I´m so happy that I was so fortunate to have her in my life. Although Hiroko was a small lady physically, she was an extremely strong person. She is widely admired for how hard she worked and for how well she raised her sons. She loved her family so much. Her two wonderful grandchildren brought so much joy to her life. Hiroko will be missed greatly and will be in my heart forever. May God bless her soul and the entire Kearney family.
