Jim Harrison, 69, peacefully joined his heavenly father on December 7, 2022, in Katy, TX at home with his family and dogs by his side. He was born July 16, 1953. Proceeded in death by his parents Merlin C Harrison and Roberta C (Rollins) Harrison.
Raised in Bothell and Marysville, WA; Jim attended Marysville High School class of 1971. He started working as a young boy milking cows and hauling hay on his uncles' dairy farms. In high school, he was often caught parking his own car then jumping into the Drivers Ed car. After graduation, Jim went to work for Garka Mill. In 1973, he married Teresa McCoy. The couple had two daughters and celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in November.
Jim was a Commercial Truck Driver, whose career spanned 45 years: hauling logs for Poeschel & Schultz, boats for Bayliner, supplies and military equipment up the haul roads of Alaska. Always eager to learn he held a Real estate license, learned commercial flooring and tile installation, opening Harrison Floor Coverings in Alaska. After moving to Nevada, he obtained his Certified Home Inspectors License and started Five Star Home Inspections. He was living in Cedar City UT in 2015, when he retired as a truck boss and hazmat driver for NRT in Holiday, North Dakota. Jim proudly finished his commercial driving career without a single moving violation or accident.
Jim loved animals, especially his dogs. He had a natural ability to fix or build anything, from cars to a custom home in Utah. There wasn't anything he couldn't tackle. His great sense of humor and loyalty created lifelong friends of co-workers and neighbors. Jim was given many nick names by those that loved and endeared him, some that can't be said in public. The stories he'd share about his life experiences could make you laugh until your cheeks hurt. He loved gardening, cooking, camping, fishing, hunting, and hanging out with family and friends.
Jim is survived by his wife Teresa (McCoy) Harrison, daughters Trichia Harrison and Beverly Cowie, grandchildren Antonio Gonzales, Bre Bash and Aly Bash, great grandson Dakota Kallappa, siblings Vicky Van Dam, Rick Harrison, Janet Narciso, and Linda Harrison, his beloved Aunt (Bev) Beverly Rollins, Andrea Gandy and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM, February 11, 2023 at Gleneagle Golf Club, 7619 E Country Club Dr, Arlington, WA.
