James (Jim) Joyce Jr. was found at his home on June 13, 2022 after suffering a tragic and fatal accident. He was born October 10, 1962 in Everett, Washington.
James leaves behind his sister Susie (Joyce) McQueen, brother Steve Kuechenmeister, sister Linda Kuechenmeister, niece Jesse McQueen, nephew Jasper McQueen, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death were his father James Joyce, his mother Clara Kuechenmeister, his sister Catherine Joyce, and his sister Kathleen Kuechenmeister.
James attended school in Stanwood for his younger years and Lake Stevens from the seventh grade on. He always thought of Stanwood as his home and ended up back in Stanwood and lived there for the majority of his life.
He worked for a few different companies in Stanwood in his younger years but he was most proud of his accomplishment of becoming a business owner when he opened up Conway Tropical Fish. Even though running a business was extremely challenging, he faced the challenge head on and taught himself everything he knew about fish. He was well known as the "Fish Doctor." He absolutely found his passion in this business. He was always happy to help his customers and donated many fish tanks and fish to schools and businesses and loved sharing his knowledge of fish and aquariums. Unfortunately, Covid did not help his business and he was forced to close the doors after 27 years.
He found a new passion and was working for Snohomish County Public Works Road Maintenance when he passed. He loved the work and the people he was working with on the Bridge Crew. He was so excited to start this new career but unfortunately it ended too soon.
James will always be remembered as someone who would give you the shirt off his back and was happy to help anyone he could. He had extensive mechanical knowledge and skills and could fix anything. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, his fur babies, and all who knew him. A celebration of his life will take place in the fall.
