Jane Mathis Obituary

Jane Mathis of Marysville, Wash. passed away on September 1, 2015, at Hidden Creek Adult Family Home where she had lived for the past 2 1/2years. Jane was born July 29, 1924, in Everett, Wash. to Paul and Eunice Stecher and attended Everett Schools, graduating from Everett High in 1941. In 1944 Jane married the love of her life, Frank Mathis and they had 58 years of marriage until Frank's passing in 2002. Jane and Frank spent the majority of their time together at their beach house at Priest Point, simply known as "The Beach" to friends and family. Many wonderful times were spent there every year. Jane had a 40 year career in Banking starting with the 1st National Bank in Everett followed by SeaFirst Bank in Everett and Marysville, Wash. After retirement Jane spent time golfing, walking on the beach and entertaining her many friends. Jane is survived by her sister, Mary Dunlop of Boise, Idaho; nieces and nephews, Jerry Anderson, Steve Anderson, Judy Russell, Robert Stecher, Cherie Seferos and Bill Dunlop. Jane also leaves behind some very special friends, Connie Hanson and her daughter, Quincy; Toni Strodel and Pauline Lindahl; plus many others too numerous to list. We would also like to thank Herschel and Jolene Mobley of Hidden Creek Adult Family Home and their staff, Christy Long and Cindy Escalante for the wonderful and loving care given to Jane during her stay there. Services will be scheduled at a later time.

I will miss my friend of many years. We did a lot of golfing, walking the loop, elections and attending Priest Point gettogethers. My sympathies to her family.
