Joseph Miller Obituary

Joseph John Miller

Joseph John Miller, 77, was born April 30, 1935 and passed away on June 23, 2012 at his home in Lynnwood, Washington after a long battle with health complications.
He was born in Devil's Lake, North Dakota and moved to Yakima, WA where he graduated from Marq-uette High School. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force. He worked for the Boeing Company for approx-imately 32 years, most of it in management for the Overhead Cranes. He loved all sports; skiing, golfing, and riding motor-cycles were a few of his favorites. When it got hard for him to walk he modified his motorcycle into a Trike. His last ride was Sturgis, South Dakota in 2007. He was a special person in many people's lives. Our father was hard working, strong, loving and gentle. He loved his family and was deeply devoted to his wife and three kids.
He is survived by his loving wife, Claudia; three children, Theresa Revel (Allan Revel), Juli Knoll (Mark Knoll) and Kirk Miller (Kristina Miller); ten grand-kids; eight great-grand-kids; two sisters, Eldora Caziera and Kathy Norton (Dave Norton); three aunts, and many nieces and nephews.
He was always willing to help anyone in need. He will always be remembered in our hearts as a husband, father, and the man he was.
A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, 17856 NE Woodinville-Duvall Road, Woodinville WA 98077, 425-806-8096.

We are so grateful to have had Uncle Joe in our lives. There were so many family traditions and we feel blessed to have been a part of them. We will never forget the many adventures and laughs on the Yakima River, rain or shine!!
Uncle Joe, you are deeply missed but always be in our hearts.
Thanks for the memories!

I found Joe's information in the paper while at my daily cafe coffee and paper time in Edgewood and was so surprised. I instantly remembered his teasing Eldora and I at the house in Yakima when we were about 12 to 15. He loved to get our goats. And he did a good job of it. This teaser grew into a great man that I again met when my husband and I met him at the camp site with Eldora and her husband a few years back. I will pray for the peace and healing that you are in need of at this time. I read the message from Niki and was not surprised that Joe did all she talked about. He was an old fashioned man even in his young years, teasing and all.

I can't pick just one memory of Papa because I have so many great ones. From buying me my first bicycle, taking me on my first camping trip, floating down the Yakima River every year, going to Enchanted Village ever year, having Easter Egg hunts at his house, Christmas Eve parties at his house with Papa being the bartender downstairs in his famous Saloon, going on the Tulip Pedal bicycle ride every year, taking me for motorcycle rides (my favorite was his Trike), going swimming with my brother Joe and I at the Lynnwood pool during the summer, going golfing with Papa and him letting me drive the golf cart, taking me to and filming EVER single ice skating competition, living at his and Grandma's house with my cousin Amanda so that we could be able to further ourselves in skating, taking me to get my braces on then out for ice cream to make me feel better from the pain of being a "metal mouth" as he put it, family trips with my daughter's (his Great-Granddaughter's Chyanne and Kayla), to family BBQ's at his house with him being the life of the party. Truth be told I don't have to many memories without him in them because he wanted to be at every function or event that he could or else he felt he would be missing out on something. He was an amazing Grandfather who sacrificed a lot so that many of us were able to have memories that would last a lifetime. He was like a second dad to my brother and I. He will be missed so much but never forgotten. I'm sure like many of you recall is still keeping up the Happy Hour tradition, Rest in peace Papa I love you.

Juli, Claudia, Teri and Kirk, I remember meeting your Dad for the 1st. time back in the 80's here at Boeing ! I was introduced to him and he had pictures of all of you all around in his cubicle. When he saw me looking, he lit up a big smile and went on to tell me who everyone was, and what they did, Ice skating, etc.! He was so very proud of his family !! I remember that very much. Because of him, I know all of you will give each other comfort and love while you are dealing with his absence. Bless all of you, Vicki
