Raised in Everett, he attended Everett High and graduated in 1944. Joe immediately enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during WW ll. After the war Joe attended Everett Community College where he took business classes. His first job was at the Everett Elks Club. He left the Elks to be an assistant manager at the Everett Golf and Country Club. Around this time he met his bride Delores Fry, known to all as Dede. Eventually, he left the EG&CC to be the manager at the Everett Elks Club where he worked and was devoted to for more than 25 years. In 1973 Joe and Dede moved to Arlington where Joe was an active member in Rotary and many other civic clubs and organizations. Joe finally retired in the mid 1990's.
Joe and Dede spent many wonderful years at their summer home at Totem Beach, and eventually moved there permanently. They loved to entertain family and friends there. Joe and Dede enjoyed traveling with friends and made many trips abroad. He and Dede spent hours playing golf, cards and enjoying a drink together on the deck at the beach. Being avid sports fans they had season tickets to the Washington State Huskies, Seattle Sonics and the Seahawks. Joe was a member of Immaculate Conception Church at the time of his death.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years Dede; brothers, Ed, Bill and Bob; one sister Margaret Reinhart; three sisters-in-law, Eve, Ann, Irene and two brother-in-laws, Dwight Fry and Charles Reinhart, and grandson, Cody Cecil.

Joe is also survived by his best friend and companion for the last 18 years, Claudine Yonke. Joe and Claudine shared many wonderful trips and just enjoyed being together with family and friends. Claudine and her family always made Joe welcome as a part of their family for holidays and get togethers.
The family would also like to thank Washington Oaks, 4 Elements AHF, and Evergreen Health Hospice Care where Joe had excellent care during the last months of his life.

Joe's family and mine were friends my entire life.
I saw his evolution from a fine private-club manager to a very successful restauranteur/businessman.
ALWAYS a very special person and citizen, as well
as a pretty fair golfer and gin player.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Weller's passing. I was an employee of his when he owned Weller's Restaurant. Still miss that place to this day. Sending thoughts and condolences to the family.
