Kathleen Baughman Obituary

December 23, 1957 -

November 16, 2022 Kathy (Kathleen Louise Reynolds) was born to Byron and Margaret Reynolds on December 23, 1957, in Middletown, Ohio, she lived in Ohio throughout her childhood. She was the first born followed by 3 brothers; Russ, Mike, and Bob, whom she loved very much. Their family moved to Issaquah, Washington during her teen years where she graduated from high school.

After finishing high school Kathy went to college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. It was at WWU where she met Kelly Baughman. They were married on June 21, 1980 and shared 42 wonderful years of life together as husband and wife and partners in ministry.

Throughout the years Kathy worked on and off as a teacher and paraeducator but spent most of her life dedicated to staying at home and raising their children; Brad, Melissa, and Jacob, and working alongside Kelly in ministry. She loved her family very much and dedicated her life to their care. She was an incredible wife, mom, and grandma. Her unconditional, sacrificial love and generosity will be deeply missed by her family and friends but especially her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Kathy's heart was broken deeply at the loss of their 7- year- old daughter in 1994 and it was at Melissa's gravesite that Kathy committed her life into the hands and service of Jesus Christ. She loved Him and served Him in a variety of ways until the Lord took her home.

She was a very creative "out of the box" thinker, a problem solver, a generous and sacrificial giver, a teacher and helper, an advocate to those in need and a mentor to many people of all ages. Her tireless and often "behind the scenes" volunteer ministries at the church and in the community was endless. She will most definitely be missed.

Kathy went home to be with the Lord Jesus on November 16, 2022. She transitioned peacefully at her home following a 6-week battle with a very aggressive brain cancer.

Kathy is survived by her husband Kelly; their 2 sons, Bradley Baughman (Heidi), Jacob Baughman (Rachel); and 3 grandchildren Felicity, Daphne, and Lydia. She was preceded in death by 7-year-old daughter Melissa (1994).

There will be a celebration of life memorial service at Mountain View Community Church, in Snohomish WA. on Sunday, December 4th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers you may give funds to Mountain View Community Church c/o Esther's Place (a women's homeless shelter in Everett), or The Great Commission Fund.

I am so very saddened to read about the loss of this wonderful woman. Kathy and Pastor Kelly were such a light to me in many ways in the years I was a member of Mountain View Church during the time I lived in WA. (1996-2018). Kathy had so many outstanding qualities and gave so much of herself so many....the last time I saw her was at Church when I visited from Indiana in early 2021. As soon as she saw me she came right to me with a big hug. I want to offer my deepest sympathy to Pastor Kelly and family.

Prayers for all of you. Kelly and Kathy were wonderful mentors to me when I was a new Christian over 20 years ago. Her faith and tenacious will to serve the Lord after the loss of their daughter inspired me greatly to let God take control over my own fears and insecurities. May He bless you with joy and peace as you mourn. Love always, Lori Meadows
