Kess Blaswich Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Kess Blaswich, age 81, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2019. Kess was born in Long Beach, CA and had called the beautiful Northwest his home for more than 40 years. He was deeply loved by his family and many friends. Kess owned the iconic Gobb Shoppe in Ballard, WA for many, many years before transitioning into his retirement years where he became a master gardner, a builder, but more importantly, chased his dreams as an avid pilot, spending many days building and flying experimental aircraft. He had a great group of friends and fellow fly guys that he flew with right up to the day he soared to heaven. He will be missed by so many. Kess is survived by his wife, Barbara Nelson of Tacoma, WA; son, Thomas Blaswich of Seattle; son, Robert Blaswich of New Bury Park, CA; daughter, Deanna Ellis of Mukilteo, WA; four grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; as well as, sisters: Sharon Humphres of Marysville, WA and Cynthia Pester of Granite Falls, WA. A celebration of life will be held in Kess' honor on February 9, 2019. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one of Kess' favorite charities; International Fellowship of Christian and Jews, www.ifcj.org.

The the entire Blaswich family, Aaron and I extend our heartfelt condolences. Kess was such an awesome man. He would come to our shop (Glass Tech Stanwood) to have his windshield replaced and I always enjoyed reminising of his days owning the Gobb Shop and living in the Seattle are. His beautiful smile will truly be missed. Soar High Kess!

Grandpa Kess, this really seems unreal to me. I know you are flying with Jesus now, but I am having a hard time accepting it. You always had the goofiest sense of humor, I loved talking to you, you were so incredibly smart and so kind. I love your heart for Jesus. You left us here but we will see you again, and that makes me happy.
Until I see you again, goodbye Grandpa.

Oh, daddy... my heart is still broken. I am so glad that I have such great memories that we shared together just before your passing. In my deepest sarrow, I keep seeing you in my mind's eye, your glistening blue eyes, your pretty white hair that was healthy and bouncy. This is just so hard and shocking to deal with... I know you are dancing in heaven with grandma and great grandma. Save my place. I will be with you again. All my love to you always and forever, your baby girl.
