Kyle Craig Obituary

Kyle Richard Craig, 37, of Sedro Woolley, WA, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Kyle was born on February 6, 1984 in Seattle, WA to Rick and LoRayne Craig of Lynnwood, WA. Kyle was raised in Lynnwood, where as a youth, he enjoyed playing baseball, hockey and earned his athletic letter in golf while attending Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Kyle's love of fishing began as a child while on camping trips with his family to Jameson Lake. Trout fishing on the lake and participating in "Karen's Fishing Derbies" led to a career as a Commercial Fisherman, fishing for crab in Alaska's Bering Sea and black cod and halibut in the Gulf of Alaska. He loved the sea, his work, and appreciated his crewmates.

When he wasn't at sea, Kyle found joy in riding dirt bikes, ATV's and following the Sprint Car circuit. During football season you could find him cheering on the Seattle Seahawks or tailgating with longtime friends at the University of Washington Husky football games. But a special place in Kyle's heart belonged to his dogs. He loved the peacefulness of taking long walks on nature's trails with his 2 Labrador Retrievers, Yeti and Bowen.

Making friends wherever his life's path took him came naturally to Kyle. Showing support for his friends no matter where or when, was something he did best. He always had a joke or a story that would put a smile on your face and brighten your day. So very many friends and his heartbroken family will forever miss his infectious laughter, taken from us all far too soon. He touched so many people's lives and his presence will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer Craig (Sedro Woolley, WA); his parents, Rick and LoRayne Craig (Lynnwood, WA); brother, Jason Craig (Lynnwood, WA); daughter, Kiera Craig (Edmonds, WA); in-laws, Fred; Teri; Kendal and Tyrus Meins (Sedro Woolley, WA); niece, Harper Johnson (Sedro Woolley, WA) and his beloved dogs.

A Celebration of Life party to share your memories and stories of Kyle will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1:00 - 5:00pm at the Edmonds Waterfront Center, 220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds, WA. Kyle's parents and his brother invite those who knew and loved him to attend.

I am so sad to hear of Kyle´s passing. I was his middle school teacher, but rooted for him always. When he got into trouble I took it personally and fought for him as though he was mine. He touched my heart, and he knew I was on his side. He came to visit me when he had finally found his happiness. He pulled up to the school in his new truck and boat. We laughed about how much education I had and how little money I made! Kyle grinned from ear to ear! He told me how much he loved the sea, and how he felt his ADHD which in school was something he had to overcome , on the sea it was his friend. He could work on deck and multitask , quick thinking and moving was important there. He had finally found his place.
Kyle loved his daughter so much! He shared many pictures of her and smiled as he showed me each one. He was such a proud dad.
Kyle´s picture´s remain to this day on the bulletin board in my classroom. He´s smiling in every one of them. He was a joy to know, and I will treasure the memories.
LoRayne, Rick, and Jason I am so sorry for your families loss. I remember many times being in your house in Lynnwood , and how much Kyle loved and respected you all even when he was in middle school. He was surrounded by such love. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
