Dr. Larry Reuel Stayner, D.D.S. beloved husband, father, grandparent, brother, uncle, and friend passed away at his home in Mesa, Arizona on March 30, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a short and difficult battle with cancer. Larry was born on April 30, 1943, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to parents Dale and Billie Stayner.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife, Marilyn Stayner, whom he met at the University of Washington in 1963 and married on June 25, 1965 in Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by his two sons and their families, Dr. Larry and Kristin Stayner of Missoula, Montana and Dr. Scott and Faith Stayner of Snohomish, Washington and his five grandchildren Jack, Grace, Sam, Katie, and Brooke. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Linda and Wayne Smith of Federal Way, Washington and their children Brandon (Kristen), Justin, and Cailin (Phil) and six great nieces and nephews Emma, Noah, Ada, Drew, James, and Blair. Larry also leaves behind several extended family members, including his brother-in-law Ellery Hall of Seattle, Washington, and many wonderful lifelong friends he met through his dental practice, fishing, handball, golfing, skiing, coaching, playing poker and/or through his family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Billie Stayner.
Larry's dedication to education was evident throughout his life. He was a member of the first graduating class from Sammamish High School and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Washington. He proudly continued his studies at the UW to earn his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
For over three decades, Larry owned his own dental practice in Marysville, Washington, dedicating himself to providing compassionate care to his patients. His commitment to his profession was unwavering, and his impact on the lives he touched will never be forgotten.
Having been raised in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Larry developed a love of nature. He was a lifelong skier, fishman, crabber, golfer, and sports enthusiast! When he went indoors, Larry loved a competitive game of handball or a round of poker.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at the Snohomish Carnegie Building from 5:00 to 7:00 pm to honor his memory and the lasting impact that he had on all who knew him.

Dear Marilyn, Larry, Scott, and Family-
I am heartbroken for you all<3 I was saddened to hear of Dr. Stayner's passing. What a beautiful written tribute and photograph:) One life lived, many lives touched. I was honored to work for him for many years and will cherish those memories forever (and him arriving in his speedy red truck)! I look forward to seeing everyone on August 16th.
