I was a client of Lorraine's when I was a kid. We met through Luther Child Services. She helped me a really rough patch of my early life, and I have profound gratitude for her help. I think of her often through challenging times, her early interventions like "safe place" visualization, total relaxation, and play therapy are hallmarks of my memory of her that still help me today, and I am reminded of this in my work as mental health counselor.

My granddaughter and I had the good fortune to be on the same Great Britain tour as Lorraine. We instantly gravitated to her happy enthusiasm. She added so much life to our trip. In a very short time my granddaughter and I felt that we had known Lorraine for a long time. Her laughter, warmth and joy was a large part of our vacation. We were honored. Lorraine, you were so special! Thank you, Nancy & Rachael

My deepest sympathy goes to the family. Dr. Brutsche was my daughter's counselor and I am very sad to hear of this shocking news. She was very patient, encouraging and believed in my daughter's abilities. This is a very sad day. We have lost a very caring contribution to our community. Again, I am sorry for your loss and mine as well.

We were so shocked to receive a letter just before Christmas from Dr. Linda Crabtree regarding Dr. Brutsche's passing. Even though my daughter was Lorraine's patient, I (like others have mentioned) learned a lot about myself as well as my daughter during her visits over a 13 year period after I became a single mother. Dr. Brutsche helped both of us to understand everything she was going through and how to survive all those tough times that followed together with tons of compassion, patience and gentle persistance when necessary from Lorraine. Dr. Brutsche definitely loved her job and deeply cared about all her patients. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched. We both miss her dearly. Lorraine was a beautiful person.

My son was a patient of Lorraine's. He didn't want to go to his first appointment, but after meeting her, he didn't want to leave. She was his friend and they shared a love of Legos. My son wanted to see her even after she said he no longer needed to see her. She gave me her cell # in case my son needed to talk with her. She was a selfless woman and I will never forget her. She was wonderful and I am so sad this world has lost a beautiful woman who gave so much. My heart goes out to her family and friends. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I think my son learned the biggest lesson in life from Dr. Lorraine Brutsche'. When we first came into her office, my son immediately went for her castle of toys. Dr. Brutsche' explained to my son, how important it was to ask to play with someone's toys and to be very gentle, because they had been played with alot. My son will always remember how Dr. Brutsche' looked into his eyes as we started to leave and said, "remember the rules, if you take something out to play with, you have to pick it up and put it away as well." Everytime we came to visit, Dr. Brutsche' never had to remind him. He knew the rules and it has stuck with my son over the years. One of the many valuable things we learned from Dr. Brutsche'. We are saddened to hear of her passing and we will miss her so much.
Our prayers are with the Everett Clinic and all of her friends and family.

I was shocked and deeply grieved when I happened to see this obituary today. My son was also a patient of Dr. Brutshe. Even though we only visited with her a few times during the summer, the visits helped my son and gave my husband and I the encouragement and help we needed. My son loved his visits with her and has often asked when he could go see "that lady that studies my brain" again. :) We loved her gentle manner and obvious love for her work. I always felt more confident as a parent after leaving her office. Our prayers will be with Dr. Brutsche's family - and all who are missing her - that they may be comforted in this time of grief.

Dr. Brutsche treated our daughter for her mood disorder-she was a pivotal person/Doctor, whom taught us things we did not know re: relating to each other. She was key in helping our daughter, and ultimately restoring our family. Her works here on earth were a gift she used well, but ultimately, God decides when to call us home. I wish comfort and strength, and in time, joy for her family. All who knew her were blessed, and we won't forget her wonderful smile and warmth. Thank you Dr. Brutsche-

Dr. Brutsche has been our daughter's therapist for the last three years. She worked with not only our daughter, but our entire family. She was a God-send to us - her insight, practical wisdom, intuitiveness and advice changed our lives. We are extremely saddened that she has left this world and we will miss her. Deep condolences to her son - she spoke of you often and with deep love.

I am very suprised and saddened to learn of Lorraine's death. She worked with my son and I with his impulsiveness. He played "sorry" with her a few times. She always let him win (bless her soul)! She was very inlightening for us both and many others. She was a highly respected therapist locally and I will miss her as a personal and professional collegue. I send happy, warm, comforting thoughts to her family and am thankful that they could share such a wonderful lady with so many others. My son, Kyle, sends his love also.
