Lynn Claughton Obituary

Lynn A. Claughton Lynn Arthur Claughton was born in Everett, WA, on June 14, 1944 to Frank and Rose Claughton. Frank and Rose built their home at Priest Point in 1933, where Lynn lived his entire life. Lynn was a talented musician who played the accordion, tuba, trumpet, clarinet, bass guitar, and sang. He took great pride serving in the Army and attended the Navy School of Music. It was his honor to play "Taps" for fallen soldiers in the Army and on countless Memorial Days. Lynn was a customer service representative at PUD for 30 years. His many hobbies included: playing music, restoring antique cars with impressive body work and paint jobs, talking with friends, and working on projects with his wife, Linda. Lynn fought an extremely courageous battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. He never complained, and continuously thought of how others were doing and whole heartedly wished them the best. He always had hope. His bravery was unfor-gettable. On the 27th of September 2018 at the same Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington he was born in, surrounded by his wife Linda and daughter Angie, the earthly life of Lynn Arthur Claughton peacefully came to a close. Lynn is now with the Lord in Heaven and reunited once again with those who left this earthly world before, including his brother, Raymond, his sister, JoAnn, his nephew, Jeff, his parents, Frank and Rose, and his great-great-nephew, Rayshawn Franklin. Lynn is survived by: the love of his life and wife of 44 years, Linda; his daughters, Cinthea and Angie, his son, Christopher, and his three grandsons, Jake, Shane and Oliver. Lynn is eternally resting at Floral Hills near the fountain. A beautiful ceremony was held to honor him. Please remember Lynn with music and your memories. Please see all obstacles with great honor and never give up on what you believe in. Lynn was humble, kind and a friend to all, whether he knew you for three minutes or three decades. His genuine and honorable spirit will live on in those who knew him best. As Lynn always said, "Bye just for now."

I have known Lynn since 1955, when we moved to Priest Point.
I went to Seattle around 1958 or 59 with Lynn and his dad to get his first Model A Ford.
We drove it home in the dark with little to no headlights. In addition the car quite about every five to ten miles do to rust in the fuel tank. We would clean the filter and blow back through the fuel line to allow fuel to past the rust flakes in the fuel tank. We pulled the engine and replaced the flywheel ring gear that summer. Had great times with the old cars.
I regret not staying closer in our friendship but our lives took different paths after our time in the military. I would only see or talk to him about once or twice a year.
Will still always count him as one of my best friends.

Dang it. I was searching for Lynn's number to give him a call and what did I see but his obituary. Too little too late Rick. I let a little tiff get in my way. I am so sorry mate. I am so glad he came by the music store to see me a few months ago. I would have been there more had I known your time was so close. Our hearts go out to Linda and your family. A very musical talented man.

Got to know Lynn when we were in the band "8 Feet Standing" around 2002. He had a great sound and was fundamental to the early success of the band. Glad he was playing to the end. See you on the big stage one day, my friend.

So sorry to read of Lynns passing. Met him in the 70's when he was a CSR on 1st floor. He had a great personality, always saying hello with a special story to tell. Enjoyed listening to his music and sharing Ford Mustang information. You could always count on Lynn to tell you the straight of things. My sympathy to his family.

His favorite Medicine Hat tune!

I met Lynn a few years ago through mutual musical friends at Open Mic Night at the Oxford in Snohomish. He instantly became a friend, and it was like I'd known him for years. I enjoyed his smile, and hearing all the glorious stories of his wonderful life. I was blessed to have been able to sing along with his playing, he was so very talented and intuitive with the music. I will miss seeing him out and about, but his warmth and kindness will always make me smile and be glad I knew him. Prayers of comfort to your family, may God be with you and hold you close.
