Marcel Joseph Leveque

Marcel Joseph Leveque, age 84, loving husband and father passed into his Lords care on March 30, 2009, following a brief illness. He was born April 25, 1924, only child to his parents, Victor and Eugenie Leveque, in St. Brieux, Sask, Canada. Raised in Maillardville near Vancouver, B.C. and being one of the greatest generation, he proudly enlisted into the Royal Canadian Air Force on August 12, 1943. While enlisted he was a leading aircraft structures mechanic, with a certificate in first aid to the injured. Following his honorable discharge he continued his education in blueprint layout and sheet metal manufacturing. He met and fell in love with Madeleine Malo and they were married May 3, 1952 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Vancouver B.C. They lived briefly in the Los Angeles, CA, area before returning to Canada for a short while. Soon after they settled for good in the Everett area, where they lived for many years.
Dad was very active in the St. Mary Magdalen Parish, and was always so proud of his many years as an usher to the parishioners. Following his retirement from Kenworth Trucks, Dad and Mom spent many years traveling the west coast. His favorite hobby was woodworking, where he made many beautiful and useful projects. In his younger years he wrote music and was quite an accomplished aviation artist.
He is survived by his wife Madeleine of 56 years. He also leaves his four loving children, Marcel, Peter, Jeff and Lisa; daughters-in-law, Sandy and Sharon; sons-in-law, Pete and Bob; and his grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephen, and Kim.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 4 p.m., on Friday, April 3, 2009, at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Ave., Everett, followed by a Rosary Prayer.
The Funeral and Mass will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, at St. Mary Magdalen Parish, 8717 7th Ave SE, Everett. A celebration of life will be held at the family home, following the service until 6 p.m.
