Mario Arrieta Obituary

Mario A. Arrieta, 73, lost his battle with cancer and passed peacefully in the comfort of his home on Tuesday July 15, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on July 21, 1951, the son of Juan Arrieta and Mary (Ruiz) Arrieta, both deceased. He will be joining his sister Connie Ortiz and his twin sister Christina Pappas who passed before him.

Mario moved to Washington in 1978 and found his calling in construction. He worked for several construction companies over the years and expanded his skills until he started his own company, Darkstar Construction. He loved the work and built many beautiful homes in Snohomish County.

Mario is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Lynn (Gallery) Arrieta, his daughter Dusty Arrieta, his son Marko Arrieta, his grandson Avery Klein, his sisters Yolanda James and Belinda Arrieta as well as his nieces and nephews.

The family would like to welcome anyone wishing to join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday Sept. 6, 2025 between the hours of 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm at his home in Tulalip.

What a shock. It's been awhile since I've seen Mario we were friends when he worked at the casino. I helped him with a couple of jobs and preparing to build his wishing well fountain. He taught me how to install windows in my house. What a marvelous, enjoyable person he was to be around, I thoroughly enjoyed his company and friendship. I am so sorry for your loss.
