Michael Keys Obituary

Michael Bob Keys

Michael Bob Keys, 60, passed away in the loving arms of his wife, Judy, on July 1, 2013 after a long battle with his health. He is now with his Lord and Savior. He was born November 21, 1952 in Everett, to Skip and Cecelia Keys.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat; and brother, Skip.
He is survived by his
wife, Judy; cousins, June, Mae and Mary; step-mother,
Terri; and step-sister, Kat; along with many longtime friends.
Mike graduated from Everett High School in 1972. He was an excellent student and excelled in sports. He also attended the UW. Mike was a hard worker. While in high school he worked at a restaurant in downtown Everett as a wait person. He then worked at the Alpine where he bragged about making the perfect steaks for Senator Jackson. Then at Bayliner and later worked with his dad at Collins Casket where he eventually bought the company. He was saddened to see the building torn down. His last job was in car sales. Mike was also a member of the Everett Lions Club.
He met the love of his life while in car sales. He and Judy knew by the third date that it was true love and on July 6, 2001 they were married at Snoqualmie Falls. Sadly Mike went to be with his Lord just five days before their 12th anniversary, leaving Judy with a broken heart and many wonderful memories.
Judy would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and the wonderful people at the Puget Sound Kidney Center for all they did to help Mike live as long as he did.
A memorial service will be July 20th at Delta Community Baptist Church, 2901 16th St., Everett at 11 a.m.

Mike was a wonderful, gentle member of the human race. Given his extensive health problems that plagued him, I am convinced he is now in a better place.

Sorry to hear about your passing. You taught me that it's OK to make money selling your customers as long as you gave great customer service. I will always remember your line " just remember Keys please", You were a big guy with a big heart. I'm glad to have been able to call you my friend. RIP

Judy, Mike was so glad to have found you. Since I knew Mike from grade school on, I recall some fun things we did...sledding in the cemetery (on the road), hunting frogs, and taking him out on my motorized raft that he immediately flipped in the Snohomish River, got soaked, and lost all of his fishing gear. He and I both had single mothers who worked, and that gave us a shared connection and common experiences since neither one of us had much while growing up, and we both had to work hard to succeed in life. Mike worked hardest while working for restaurants, and he was good at it, ending up as chef at the Alpine before he change careers and took a job at Bayliner Boats. I think Mike would be remembered as a hard worker and a likeable person.
