Myron took the eternal ride to join his wife, Carole and sons, David and Eric on June 2, 2016. He was born on November 26, 1943, to Medford and Ida Hanson in Milwaukee, Wis. At age 18 Mike joined the U.S. Airforce and was stationed at Paine Field, Wash., where he met his future wife, Carole Marcus. Carole and Mike married and settled in Everett, Wash. where they raised their two sons, David and Eric. Mike retired from the City of Everett as a para transit bus driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and two sons. Mike is survived by his brother, Dennis Hanson; aunt and uncle, Marsha and Matt Sternig; aunts, Helen Henningfeld and Jo Ellen Sternig; brother-in-law, Bob (Lisa) Marcus; along with many cousins, relatives and good friends in Wisconsin and Washington. A special thanks to Mike's loving neighbors; the Jeanne and Joe Armitage, Sheila and Kelly Tolle, and Bedelia and Leo Walton Families and his many friends from Rocco's Fireside Bar & Grill. I knew Mike & his family for 34 years there is sooo much I could say about him, but I will start with this, Mike was the kind of person the world desperately needs more of, the kind of man I wish i could become. He was such a loving husband, father & friend. Whether he knew you for decades or a day, he treated you like family. He served his country, his community and loved with all he had. We all loved you Mike. Your passing has left a hole in our hearts that will be impossible to fill. I'm was so lucky to be able to call you my friend. Give Carole, Eric & David a hug for me when you get to heaven. So long my friend, this world was a better place because you were in it.

We were in shock when we heard that Myron (Mike) has left this world to be with his wife and boys. We met Myron shortly after moving to Florida, actually we met him the very first day that we became friends with his brother Dennis. Dennis and Myron were very close and when you talk to Dennis you talk about Myron! Affectionately often referred to as simply my brother. Finally Myron came to Florida for a visit and we all became fast friends.

Myron was always talking about how much he wanted to be closer to Dennis and how it was so darned hard to leave his family in Everett. Those neighbours have been through thick and thin with me, They have always been there for me, I love em, and they love me. Were some of the things Myron told us about this other family of his.
Some families are brought together through genetics, some families are forged with trust, loyalty, honor, faith and understanding. Myron was lucky enough to have this other wonderful Everett family.

Myron was always talking about taking us to Rockos, when we visited him in Everett. A little bar around the corner where everyone knows your name. Another little niche of friendship and camaraderie that Myron had forged for himself. He so wanted us to come and meet his friends from Rockos. One day Suzanne and I will visit that place to say hi and have a little pint with some of his friends and share our stories. Go Seahawks!

Myron knew this day would come and he knew that he would be together with his long lost family once and for all. For Myron that was a joyous thought. For that we will celebrate. We mourn, a little selfishly, that we didn't have this gentleman in our lives just a little bit longer.

We send our love and support and hugs and kisses to Dennis and Severy and to all the families and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time of loss and suffering.

Our last message from Myron:

I met you as a stranger. Now I have you as a friend. I hope we meet in our next walk of life where friendship never ends.

Myron we will miss your crinkly smile and that twinkle in your eye as you teased, hugged and laughed with us. We will miss you sharing facebook humour, texts and notes. We will miss you.

One of the nice guys. I got to know Mike when we stood in the snow outside Fred Meyer for "Stuff a Bus." I enjoyed having him as a member at the Senior Center for too short a while. He will be missed.
