Patrick Hughes Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick "Pat" William Hughes Jr, of Marysville, who left us after a brave battle with cancer. Born and raised in Everett, Pat developed a deep love for the Pacific Northwest. After graduation from Cascade Highschool he started his own landscaping business, and his yard was forever immaculate. He later moved on to an apprenticeship and worked as a machinist for Western Gear, Acrowood, various machine shops and ultimately Electroimpact, where he retired in 2022. Pat was known by all that knew him for his unwavering spirit, strong opinions, and relentless determination - qualities that always made him a force to be reckoned with. Yet, beneath the gruff exterior was a man who loved his family deeply, even if he wasn't the type to say it outright. While Pat lived his life to the fullest - he also cherished the quiet moments: a hot cup of coffee and the Seahawks game on. In his early days he enjoyed baseball and was part of an all-star league. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Pat is preceded in death by his Father, Patrick William Hughes, stepfather George "Red" Raven, and sister Kimberly Broussard. He is survived by his mother, Adeline, his wife, Pamela, brothers Greg and Terry, sisters Kathy (Fred) and Melonie. His children Holly, Jodie (Lorn), stepchildren Erin (Brian), Jacob (Brienne), and nine grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Solie Funeral Home on March 22nd at 2:00PM. 3301 Colby Ave., Everett, WA. Reception will be held after at Patty's Eggnest Chuckwagon 6720 Evergreen Way, Everett where his family and friends will gather to celebrate his life, share stories, and raise a glass in his honor. Pat always believed in keeping things simple - so we'll keep it as he would have wanted: casual, straightforward, and maybe with a little bit of grumbling about the food, just to make him proud. Pat will be deeply missed by his family and friends - rest in peace, Pat. Party On!

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. I knew Pat through his sister Kathy in our younger years.
