Paul Huglen Obituary

Paul Martin Huglen, born December 30, 1946, passed away January 21, 2014 with his beloved wife at his side. Paul graduated from Arlington High School in 1965 then started college in Everett. He was called to service by his county and spent two years in the Army, serving honorably in Vietnam. In 1974 Paul married Diana, a love that lasted 39 years. Together they took over running the dairy farm from his in-laws for 12 years, and then it transitioned into a beef farm, which he lovingly operated until his death. Along with the beef farm, he worked at the Marysville Livestock Auction until it closed. Paul will be remembered for his deep, abiding love for his wife, his love of family, friends, and animals. Paul would do anything to help someone in need. He enjoyed farming, fishing, and camping with family. Paul believed it never hurt to take the other side, just for argument sake. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Hjalmar and Helen Huglen; and his sister, Margaret. Paul leaves his wife, Diana; brother, Howard (Donna); sisters, Bernice (Gerald), Dee Dee (Larry); brother-in-law, Paul (Debi); sister in-law, Betty; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Friday January 31, 2014 at the Arlington Municipal Cemetery followed by a memorial service at Faith Lutheran Church, North Lakewood, WA 98259 at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arlington Food Bank.

Paul and I shared a ride to Everett Junior College(as it was known at the time). Paul was able to read a book in a day, He'd be starting a book on the way to college one day and starting another book the next day on the way to school, because he had finished yesterdays book. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Always had a smile even on bad days. Never had anything bad to say about anyone. Enjoyed his stories and his laughter. A man of few words will always be loved and never forgotten. Rest in Peace Paul. Love you.
