Richard Spoelstra Obituary

Today we mourn the untimely passing of an amazing and beloved family man, Richard David Spoelstra. His life was tragically cut short, leaving behind a legacy of love, skill, and devotion to those closest to him. He will always be remembered for his love of children, family, animals, the outdoors, music, gardening, and most of all, adventures. He was a master carpenter by trade and always willing to help family and friends in home projects. He was a skilled mechanic and rebuilt several muscle cars, was featured in a magazine, and won trophies at Camaro shows. And whether he was growing Sequoia trees from seeds, or hiking with his German Shepherd, his gentleness countered his strength in all things. His big hugs could heal any of our struggles.

Throughout his life, he held firmly to the belief that "Truth Matters" - a value he lived by and passed on to those around him. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void. He will be greatly missed by so many, but never forgotten.

Known by his friends and family as Dave or Rick, he was born in Mount Vernon, WA, and is survived by his wife Dana; his father Richard; his mother Peggy; his daughters Jessica, Nicole, Rachelle, and Hannah; his sisters Lori, Kelli, and Lisa; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

We all love you and miss you so much!
