Dr. Richard A. Wendt
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Everett First Baptist Church, 1616 Pacific Ave.
A celebration of Dick's life will follow from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., at the Everett Golf & Country Club. Private family interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to Purdy & Walter with Cassidy Funeral Home, Everett.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dr. Wendt was Our family's Orthodontist growing up I was scared I would not ever have perfect teeth. My Mom asked Dr Wendt if we could trade landscaping services for all of us 7 kids plus Mom and Dad to get braces and head gear. It took years of hard work showing up every week at his home and office to pay off Our debts we finally did, and he continued to hire us. Dr Wendt was a kind and hardworking Man. I have so much respect for him and his beautiful Family. he passed way to soon and is missed so much. Rest in peace. love Sarah Yoshihara

Dear Nancy and girls,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My prayers are with you and your girls during this difficult time. I went to school with Dick beginning in Kindergarten at Jackson Grade School. Dear Nancy, Lisa, Anne and Lauren,
I was very saddened to hear of your loss.
You may not remember me, but I babysat you girls in the late 70's. Dr. Wendt noticed one day that my teeth could be straightened and offered braces for babysitting. I was so thrilled as I'd been told that I was too old. He assured me that I was not and we proceeded. I've been forever grateful. Although our lives have taken us in different directions, I have thought of all of you often with fond memories. Having just gone through the death of my mother, I can imagine the pain you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My brother, sister and I all went to Dr.Wendt, this was back in the 80's. He was always so nice. But the one thing I remember the most was, when my father died, he told my mom he was calling her account paid in full. He knew it would be very hard for her to pay it all off.

Dear Nancy and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember the first time knowing you and Dr. Wendt as a patient from 1972 to 1977. I thought you both were so nice. Then in 1980 after graduating from a dental assisting program I came and worked for him for a couple of years. We all had some good times. On Wednesday's when there were no patients sometimes Lauren or Anne would come in to help clean. I always enjoyed seeing the girls I pray that you feel God's love surrounding you during this time.

All of us at the Main 3rd Fl. Everett Clinic Lab will miss the smiles we alway got from Dr. Wendt.
It is with such sorrow that we just saw him. Our prayers are with the whole family and many friends his life has touched.

Dear Nancy, Lisa, Anne, and Lauren,
I know the pain you are going through. It is such a shock to have him gone. Like Kendall, I have plants in my yard from auctions and whatever. I learned alot about art too, and now am pursuing that at church. I know you are very busy now, but I will see you Wednesday. Amazing how those 10+ years at work grew our families to adulthood. Dr Wendt will always be remembered by me, for Whidbey Island. So many wild and crazy memories, and lots of good lunches.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Dick was always so kind, thoughtful, and understanding. I know he will be missed so much by anyone that was able to get to know him. He went above and beyond for me. Not only was he a wonderful boss but also a friend.
I was always so amazed at the bond he held with all of his daughters. He loved his family so much and that showed in everything he did.
You are all in my thoughts and my prayers. God bless you in this difficult time. Let me know if there is anything I can do for any of you.

I am very sorry to hear about Dr. Wendt passing. I know that you all, had very individual, special relationships with him, and will be missed by you all. Losing such a strong man, too early is always difficult. I only hope that the memories bring smiles, and time will lessen the pain. I know I always felt welcomed at your home growing up by him. Dear Nancy and family,
I am so sorry to learn of Dick's death. He was such a warm and kind person! I was his first patient and also, the first adult to receive "braces" in Everett. At that time I was active in civic affairs and served on some of the committees that he so ably chaired.
You are in my thoughts and prayers! Dick's importance in my life will never be forgotten!

I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I was one of his first "adult" patients in Everett and he was truly tested by me, as I was able to talk back unlike his children patients. We always had a good laugh about it, however secretly he was probably happy to see those braces of mine come off! He was a great guy and he always had a smile and a kind word when I ran into him in Everett. I wish I had known he lived part time in AZ as I would have looked him up to see that wonderful smile and to share with him the wonderful one he gave me. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.

I want to personally send my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Dr. Wendt has a special place in my heart as wonderful boss and mentor that I will never forget. He bought me a rose bush that I planted outside my front door 7 years ago and there is not a day that goes by I don't think of him and your family every time I see it. His yellow roses will live on and so will everything he has taught me. For that I am greatful. I wish you all the peace and much needed strength to help you through this loss.

Dearest Nancy, Lauren and family. Our deepest sympathies are felt for you during this time of your great sorrow and loss.
Losing a loved one is very hard and I am thankful to read that your loss was dignified.
As I write this I shed tears for your grief. I wanted you to know that I will never forget several years ago when Jennifer had requested a speicial dinner to celebrate her birthday that included Lauren and Lauren's parents. That meant more to her that you came to her party than you will ever know.
The days go by fast and we are all busy but at the end of each glorious day we all take time to remember and relive some of those great memories and we thank God for that.
Please accept our heartfelt sorrow with the hopes that as time goes on so will the process of healing.
