Roberta McCarty Obituary
Roberta J. McCarty
She was born on March 10, 1938 in Everett, WA to Joe and Maude Renfro.
Roberta and her husband Larry were longtime residents of Everett where they met, were married and raised their children. They were married in 1956 and moved to Soap Lake in 1997 for retirement, and were very active members of Ephrata American Legion Post No. 28. She was employed for over 20 years by the Mukilteo School District in south Everett, working in the Food Services Department, and was the "Milkshake Lady" at Mariner High School.
Roberta is survived by her husband of 55 years, Edgar (Larry) McCarty; three sons and their spouses, Kevin (Gigi) McCarty of Yakima, WA, Ken (Nancy) McCarty of Marysville, WA, Kelly (Pam) McCarty of Huntington Beach, CA; "daughter", Patti Davis of Arlington, WA; six grandchildren, Sean, Sheena, Patrick, Morgan, Kyle and Brendan; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Joe Renfro Jr. of Anacortes, WA; a sister, Carolyn Sherman of Coulee City, WA; and her American Legion Post No. 28 family.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 23,2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ephrata American Legion Post No. 28276 8th Avenue NW.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ephrata American Legion Post No. 28 Girls State or Boys State funds.

Roberta will always be a part of the Mariner wrestling family. We mourn her loss and extend our prayers to Larry and the boys. She was a special lady and part of the Mariner tradition.
