Scott Carter Obituary

Scott Henry Carter, of Marysville, Washington, passed away February 6, 2017 at the Bailey Boushay House in Seattle, Washington. He was 61 and battled colorectal cancer. Scott graduated from Arlington High School in 1973. He spent 33 years as a proud Boeing machinist, finishing his career as an inspector. Scott is survived by his daughter, Janaya Almquist; son, Dan Carter; two grandsons, Avery and Tristan; and many other loved ones. Scott loved to play. He found joy in riding his Harley along twisting roads, going fishing on the Puget Sound, and spending time with friends. He had a sparkle in his eye so strong, people were helpless but to light up when he smiled at them. Scott agreed with Hunter S. Thompson's quote: "Life should not be a journey to the grave, with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" " A celebration of life will be held at Rockin' Ms BBQ Golf Range in Everett on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

Tomorrow marks a month since my dad passed away. Most days, the grief is barely manageable. My dad was a complicated, dynamic man. He was not often used to people disagreeing with him. There is a special way your own kids can really get your goat when they reflect your own attributes back at you, so sometimes I drove him nuts! There was no doubt about the depth of his love, though. He died too young and I am so sad I have been robbed of the next 20 years of butting heads with him. I love you, Dad. To the moon and back!

Scott - Lynne and I only knew you for a few years from our ride to Sturgis in 2013 with a wonderful crew of Harley riders and you were a blast to get to know. We enjoyed your company and your caring attitude each and every time we were together on rides at TR M/C parties or meet ups at the Harley dealer while servicing the bikes. You will be missed. Thanks to the family for sharing Scott with up. RIP Scott, God Bless.

Scott, You will always be loved and never forgotten. Our friendship, began nearly 40 years ago. Meeting you, with that smile, love for life, and all those good times, face to face and side by side, ahead and behind, our friendship never ceased. Working, with you, socially a partner, and all life had to offer. Lunches; Speedway Subs, Genes Handy Mart, Big Sams, M&J's BBQ, Checkered Flag, Potlucks, retirements, meeting new people. Seahawks!, Reading a quiet book :) Building and installing airplane parts, speaking and listening, and loving all those people around you and all of those around us. I remember, being 20 or 21, I asked you early about some clothes you wore to work...You Served our Country, and after watched and became a friend, for Decades! Thank you Scott, and I Thank Your Family.

Janaya,
I am so sorry that you lost your dad. I wish I could give you a big hug and make it all better. But life doesn't work that way for things like this does it. But you're in my heart ❤ and thoughts.

Scott was a great friend, I still have a few pictures of us on opening day for fishing (17 yrs ago). We sure had a lot of fun. He was always there to help too, he came over quite a few years ago and helped with some cement work I had. He always had that contagious laugh, at work and out of work. Will miss you Big Guy...

Dear Janaya and Dan. Your Dad was very special to me. He loved his seahawks, loved playing golf with the boys. Had a sweet tooth.I would bake something for him and he would take a bite and with that twinkle in his I say, "yum, yum". He had a great sense of humor as you know and just loved life. He will be missed. Hold on to all the memories. Hugs.
