Stephen A. Diel

1952 - 2016

Stephen A. Diel passed away on March 15, 2016, at home after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. Steve was born on October 28, 1952, to Harold and LaVoun Diel. He was born outside North Bend, Was-hington. Steve was raised in Sultan, Washington and graduated from Sultan High School in 1970. He then served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Steve owned and operated Dial Telephone Services from 1983 until 2007. Steve loved horses and competed in Western Gaming, winning many trophies. Later in life he switched his love for riding to Harleys. Steve also had a favorite hangout, which he called "The Place" where he passed time with many longtime friends. His father, Harold Diel and brother-in-laws, Bruce Ramsey and John Oster, preceded Steve in death. Steve is survived by his mother, LaVoun Diel and children, Desiree, Damon, Dustin; and grandchildren, Daisy, Faythe, DJ and Brandon. He is survived by brothers, Arden, Arnie (Katie), and Doug (Michelle) and sisters, Pamela, Terri, Janice (Chris) and Randi (Jeff). He also leaves num-erous nieces and nephews. Steve is going to be missed by numerous others who called him family or friend. The family would like to thank the friends and especially, Terry McDonald, nephew, Shane Diel, Diane Keating, Dennis Barton and Cathi Plummer for all the special care and assistance they provided to Steve. The family is planning a celebration of his life on March 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Arlington Heights Improvement Club located at 12221 228th St. NE, Arlington, Washington.
