Richard Martin Diel

Richard Martin Diel, 94, of Findlay, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 9, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, December 20, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Marie (Schmitt) Diel. On August 22, 1964, he married Carol Mae Blomeke, who preceded him in death May 4, 2020.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph (Nancy) Diel of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, Martin (Mary Ann) Diel of Lower Burell, Pennsylvania; and a daughter, Catherine (Kevin) Doseck of Anna. His grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren) Diel, Abigail Diel, Luke Diel, Connor (Skyler) Perry, Mackenzie Perry, Dylan Perry, Nicholas (Kayla) Doseck, Courtney (Andrew) Grewe, and Jayden Doseck; great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Pavin, Baylor, and Carsen Doseck; and a sister, Carol Wilhelm of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; and brothers, William and John Diel; and a sister, Rita Hostuttler.

Richard was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish and was formerly employed at Marathon Oil Company as the manager of advertising, retiring in 1994 after 45 years. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force in the Aleutian Islands, enjoyed time with his family, golfing, fishing, and traveling. Richard was also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at St. Michael, the Archangel Catholic Parish, 750 Bright Rd., Findlay. Memorial Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Richard will be interred at the columbarium in St. Michael Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by members of Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
