Not sure what to say?

As a friend and college roommate of Steven twice during the years 1974-1978 at U.W., until shortly before he started at Boeing, let me say that I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing while still so young. My condolences go out to his family and all who knew him. Though we have not kept in touch through the years, I now replay those memories that recall the friendship, honesty, humor, and comradeship that marked Steve Ainsworth as a special person in my life, and I know he will be missed in other lives.

Dear Diane,

Please let me add my condolences to the many that have been offered here. I was shocked when I heard the news of your loss and my heart aches for you and your family. Although I never knew Steve, from what I've read here he seems like a very warm, caring, and decent man, and I'm sure his spirit will live on in the hearts of you and everyone who loves him, much as the spirits of my late parents live on within me and my sister. Your own tribute to Steve is testimony to this.

I will always have fond memories of the chats you and I had at Shoultes where we stumbled on some of the similarities in our backgrounds. I hope that one of these days, when enough time has passed and our paths momentarily cross again, you can tell me more about Steve. I'm sure I would enjoy hearing about him.

Until then, know that you and your family are in my thoughts and that I wish you all the best.

I just learned of Steve's passing. We worked together at Boeing, and shared some great laughs, and some questionable emails after I retired. He was a great guy, and will be missed by all of us. No words can convey my feelings for his family who have lost a terrific guy much too early.

Steve, I just want to thank you for 21 great years of marriage, two awesome kids, and a journey with many twists and turns. Many will miss you but none as much as your family. You made us laugh until we cried, love a spur of the moment adventure, and your mighty wit brought us to our knees. We have cherished memories of family. To all who have shared memories and condolences, Lauren, Aaron, and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing these moments with us. Your support has lifted us up and we can never adequately express our gratitude. Thank you, The Ainsworth Family

It is hard to believe Steve has been a part of my life for 28 years. We quickly became best friends, after meeting at Boeing. He’s always been there through the thick and thin of my life, never judging me – only supporting my decisions. Over the years, our families have enjoyed weekends and vacations together all while raising our kids. Steve loved his family and lit up every time he would speak about them. For years I have seen him at least once a week for coffee before playing racquetball or just taking in a movie. He was the type of friend I could call just to say “hey, I’m stuck in traffic”. I will miss him.

Diane, Lauren and Aaron,

Words can not express the sorrow we feel. Our friendship started with the Grizzlies football team. He was the guy who always seemed to be smiling! His love for his family was obvious. He will be missed.

I've worked with Steven from Italy since September 2008, and even if I've just talk with him by phone, I've immediately felt his kindness and cherrfulness. It was supposed to have a beer togheter once I'd come in Seattle sometimes. I'm really sad I can't meet Steven and know personally him.
He is a very special colleague and has been a pleasure and honor to work with.
Blessings.

It's been years but I never got the impression from Steve that he would want me grieving about him. He was a good friend and neighbor and even though we lost touch I am so glad that things worked out for the family. Loves conquers all. I am so picturing in my mind him throwing a ball to Rebel in Heaven. Peace and Love to All
