Travis Dean Obituary

A life well lived. Travis George Dean was born in Everett, WA to George T. & Florence Dean on August 10, 1930. Travis crossed the bar July 22, 2023.

Travis graduated from Everett High School in 1948. After 2 years of employment at the Iocal pulp & paper mill & Seattle Boeing, Travis joined the Air Force, where after 23 years, he retired as Senior Master Sergeant. During this time, he served in New Mexico, England, Morocco, Indiana, Turkey, Colorado & Germany. He served 2 yrs. in the Military Police and 21 yrs. in Nuclear Weapons, Earning titles of; Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Superintendent & Logistics Management Specialist. After retiring from active duty, he then worked as an Air Force Civilian for another 20 years, in California, again in nuclear weapons, where he was given membership in the Society of the Nighthawk. He also earned AA degrees in Electronic Communications Technology, Business & Real Estate.

Travis was an accomplished, honorable but modest man with a good sense of humor. He was admired and respected by his family & friends. Travis was a dedicated Mason & Shriner for many years. He filled his retirement years serving with his fellow Masons & Shriners, travelling, marching in all the parades. He also enjoyed several positions in his Lodges of CA & WA, including the Legion of Honor. When he took on a position, he strived to leave the task easier for the next person. Travis was especially appreciated for his efforts in the Mason Scholarship program.

Sadly, Travis was predeceased by his sister Deborah (John) Fox. He leaves his beloved wife, Judy (Larson) Dean, brother Jack, 6 nephews & 3 nieces, stepdaughter Kate, 3 grandchildren, several great grands.

He was, of course, a well-loved, respected member of the Larson/Laitala family. He will be well remembered & sorely missed. Travis declined services.

Memorial donations may be made to Fred Hutch or Prov Hospice.
