William Squibb Obituary


William John Squibb "Bill"
June 20, 1934-Sept. 1, 2011

William was born in Seattle, WA to Hubert and Militene Squibb. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School where he excelled in baseball, basketball and football. He attended the U of W on a basketball scholarship and was drafted into the Army two years later. He married Pat Carrol and they had four children. For 20 years he played semi-pro baseball, worked for Burke Sales and later for the Tradewell Grocery chain as a Western Division Marketing Manager. He then met Marilyn Pope and they wed May 26, 1989.
His favorite hobbies were golf and dancing. He was the life of the party and had a great sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his children, Mike Squibb, Teresa Erdahl, Susan Small (Bill), and Steve Squibb. He had four step-children, Diane Willardson (Steve), Wayne Leigh (Barbara), Susan Weese (Tom) and Kris Pope (Angela); combined he had 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grands.
He was predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Sharon Brown.
There will be a memorial service at Evergreen-Washelli in Seattle, WA on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

The Gillis Family extends condolences and well wishes to Marilyn and her extended family members, and to Bill's extended family members. We'll miss his sense of humor and thoughtful nature. We'll treasure the many family gatherings where Bill elevated our spirits and made the events well worth attending! We know that our matriarch, Claudia, is by his side, in eternal peace.
