Amy Sturgis Obituary

Amy Sturgis
November 23, 1963 - January 28, 2023
Rock Hill, South Carolina - After a brief illness, Amy Plemmons Sturgis, 59, passed away on January 28, 2023.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Sturgis; daughter, Brooke Sturgis; sister, Lisa Plemmons Dissington (Tom); mother-in-law, Jean Sturgis; sister-in-law, Julie O'Dell (Tim); and brothers-in-law, Rob Sturgis (Laura), Joel Sturgis (Roxanne), Jim Sturgis (Shelley), Tim Sturgis (Mary K); and many nieces and nephews.
Amy was born on November 23, 1963, in Chester, SC. She graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 1982 and attended Spartanburg Methodist College and York Technical College. She spent most of her career as an Office Clerk for the York County Sheriff's Office and retired after many years of dedicated service.
Amy was a loving daughter, devoted wife, encouraging mother, supportive sister, and caring friend. She always had a smile on her face, a funny story to share, and a sympathetic ear to listen. She loved everyone and made others feel special. Amy was an avid football fan who was always cheering for her Carolina Panthers and Clemson Tigers.
Amy is preceded in death by her loving parents, Charles and Jo Plemmons, who we know helped guide her into her new Heavenly home.
All funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, her memory will be best served by offering contributions to the 809 Foundation (Detective Mike Doty's Foundation), P.O. Box 1595, Fort Mill, SC 29716.
